I didn't know what else I could do and google's inspiration was also gone, so I started thinking. But I already mentioned it, I'm not creative. So I decided to put the videos of me and my friends on YouTube. We didn't have many views, but oneof them was someone special.
One day I received an email:
Dear miss Ross
We saw your videos on YouTube and we wanted to know who edited them, because the person who did this is really talented. We would like to offer him/her a job in our company named 'Cosmathagy'. We design websites and help people to edit their videos.
A prompt reply would be appreciated.
George Simpson, vice president of Cosmagathy
So I answered on the email and got the job. They were really setisfied with my work. Every week I received a new assignment that I had to finish by Sunday and I was well paid. I had less time to watch videos. But that was a good thing, because now I did something usefull. I learned a lot and they gave me a new laptop with a professional program to edit videos.
Of course I kept fangirling over One Direction. One day I was listening to the radio and the presenter said there would be a big announcement within one hour. That was the longest hour of my life. In the mean time Grace had come to my house, so we could freak out together. But eventually it was over and the big news was that he would give away a M&G. If you wanted to make a chance to win, you had to make a music video on the song 'Kiss You'.
So me and Grace immediately started brainstorming and we found a few ideas we could use in our video. We had the advantage that I know how to edit videos, so our video was well done I think. Unfortunately we didn't win the tickets. We had put so much effort in it and we tried to be creative, but they just picked a random video of a girl who sat in her room on an office chair singing along with the song.
Did I just always have bad luck or was it a sign that I should stop fangirling? I didn't see a point in it anymore. So after two and a half year of fangirling over One Direction I gave up, even though I said I never would. But they just would not notice me. I tried so hard. I wrote them tons of fan mail, turned on my notifications to try to be the first to retweet and fave their tweets, I went to London to see their concert and I also went to a few concerts in Belgium and the Netherlands.
People always say "If you want something, just go for it." or "Chase your dreams.", well that's bullshit. I don't say you don't need to have dreams, but you have to keep them realistic. Because as you can see I put a lot of effort in seeing my idols and they wouldn't even read my fanmail. That's why I think you need to have dreams that can come true, for example: becoming a doctor, losing weight ... I don't know. The dreams I had were only fantasies.
