We ended up going to the urgent care.
The trip there was pretty quick, but once we arrived, we stayed in the waiting room for hours.
Once we sat down, Hinata clutched my hand and looked at me, examining my wounds. "God, I hope your face isn't broken."
I pulled him as close as the chairs would allow. "Don't worry. I'm sure it's fine."
He sighed. "Yeah. You took the Tylenol I gave you, right? How much does it hurt?"
I nodded. "Not too bad. I think it's helping."
He squeezed my hand and looked into the distance.
"Okay. Good."
When it was finally our turn, I ended up getting nine stitches across the area above my brow, and only one on my lip. Luckily nothing was broken, and my only orders were to take a pain medication they had prescribed and a week's leave from work so I could relax and let my face heal.
Once we walked out of the urgent care, Hinata hugged me.
"I'm so glad you're gonna be okay."
I hugged him back.
We let go of each other for a moment, then I took Hinata's hand. "Do you need to go back to work? Sorry this took so long."
Hinata smiled. "Nope! I called Kata-Chan this morning and told her everything that happened. I don't have any clients or anything, so it's fine if I take the day off today."
I looked down at him.
He's smiling again.
That made me smile.
We crossed the street, still holding hands.
I looked down at him again. "Let's head back home, okay? I'm pretty hungry, I'll make us something to eat." He nodded.
"Oh, and you're staying with me."
He turned towards me, confused. "Huh?"
"I just...want you to be safe." I wrapped my arms around him, not caring that anyone might have been watching.
"So stay with me."
He stared at me for a moment, smiled, then put his head on my chest. "Okay."
Once we got back, I noticed that my face was starting to hurt. Really fucking bad.
"Aghhh, this sucks." I put my hand on my eye.
Hinata walked up to me, concerned, then grabbed my hand and pulled it down.
"Don't touch there, you just got stitches. So it hurts more here, huh?" He inspected the bruise on my face as I nodded.
He sighed. "I guess the meds they gave you before are wearing off. Let me go get the new ones."
He hustled back to the door and grabbed the bag from my coat pocket. Then he took my arm, walked me into the kitchen, and ushered for me to sit down. I followed his directions and sat.
He poured water into a cup, opened the bag with the medicine, and handed both to me. I took a pill and swallowed it, then downed the glass. Once I was done, he took the items he had just given me and walked to the other side of the kitchen.
He walked back to me and wrapped his arms around my neck, not even having to crouch to do so. "I hope that helps. Are you hungry? I'll make some lunch."
"I can make it, I said-"
"Shhh. You're in pain. Don't you dare." He scurried over to the freezer, grabbed a bag of frozen peas, then wrapped it in a towel. Then he went back to me. "Put this on your face, alright? I can make anything."
He ended up making me a ramen bowl. He handed me the bowl and I first took a sip of the broth.
"Wow. I had no idea you were such a good cook. Thanks."
Hinata smiled. "It's nothing! How do you feel?"
I stuffed some noodles into my mouth. "Better. But I'm really tired for some reason."
He frowned, thinking, then wandered over to the kitchen counter and picked up the pill bottle.
"Side effects: constipation, nausea, drowsiness..." He sighed.
I picked up my chopsticks and ate some more ramen. "Hopefully I can shit this out."
He giggled. "Kageyama! Don't say that! Say...poop."
"Alright, shit, I hope I can poop this out."
He let out another laugh.
"Jeez."
Next, he walked over to me with his own bowl and started eating. "This actually happens to be one of my signature recipes! I'm glad you had all the right ingredients for it."
I smiled. "Me too."
We ate the rest of our meals and the pain meds started to kick in even more.
Starting to get tired, I felt my eye (the one I could open, at least) flutter open and closed.
Hinata noticed this and got up. "Getting sleepy, huh?"
I sighed. "I guess."
He took my hand and pulled me up. "Come on. Let's get to the couch so you can take a nap."
We entered the living room, and I immediately flopped onto the couch.
"Ahh, this is nice."
Hinata smiled. "So does your face feel better?"
I nodded. "It feels great. I barely even notice it hurting now."
"Good." He walked closer to me.
I grabbed his hand. "Come here." He blushed as I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him to my chest.
He put a blanket overtop us.
Once he snuggled into me, I finally felt myself drift off.
