"Almost done?" I wandered over to Hinata, now sitting in his own chair.
Hinata looked up from something on his computer to look at me.
"Yup! Just have to finish this order for hair spray and..." He looked back down, typing something on his computer, and slapped his hands down on his desk, sighing. "Done! Aghh, finally."
Then he shot up from his chair. "Let's go!"
I smiled.
We walked out of the salon. Today was a bright, sunny day, with almost no clouds in the sky. As it was nearing may, the weather was warm, but not too warm either.
Hinata lifted his arms and closed his eyes to feel the weather. "So nice."
I noticed other pedestrians stare at Hinata as they walked around him.
I took his hand and moved him to one side. "Hinata, be careful." He opened his eyes and looked at me. "Oh!" We both smiled at eachother and he
giggled. "Whoops."God, how I loved his laugh.
"So, where do you want to go?"
Hinata thought for a moment. "Oh, I know a place! I've gotten lunch from it a few times 'cause it's so close. Follow me!" He almost skipped down the sidewalk, and I followed.
We walked for about five minutes until he suddenly stopped.
"Hinata? What-"
I saw the fear in his eyes. He took my hand and walked quickly in the other direction. For someone with such short legs, he was really fast. I could barely keep up.
"Hey! What are you doing?"
His voice was serious this time. "Come on."
I grew alarmed.
Could it be...?
Once we reached a small alleyway, Hinata pulled me into it. Both of us were breathing heavily.
"What's going on, Hinata?"
He covered his face with his hand.
"I-I..."
I put my hand on his shoulder and brought my face closer to his. "Hey," I spoke gently. "It's okay. We're okay."
Hinata looked up at me from his hands. His lip quivered. His hands trembled. He was scared.
Just like that night.
"You saw him?"
Hinata nodded.
"Shit..."
I pulled him to my chest.
I could hear his restrained sobs. "H-He... must have been looking for me. That's how he gets to the salon. I mean, I-I don't know, I thought..."
He let out another sob.
Fuck.
What the hell is wrong with that guy?
"I thought... After what happened, h-he..."
I squeezed him tighter.
"I thought he wouldn't follow me anymore."
Then he looked up at me, tears streaming down his face.
I wiped them off of his cheeks.
"Do you remember what I told you?"
He smiled but his expression was sad. Tired. "Yeah.
But... tell me again."
I knew exactly what he wanted to hear in that moment.
