(George and Fred's POV)

-Fred's POV-

Ron had finally shown up after being gone for the whole day. It was now evening and I was more than ready to head to bed, that was until Ron had shown up and instantly, being the big brother  I am, I had the urge to question where he had been the whole day, and why.

Sitting on Ron's bed, I pretended like I was reading one of his books from his classes, and waited to see if he'd realise. Just as I had expected, I heard him huff and drop his bag down on the floor, along with kicking off his shoes and tossing his robe aside. Looking up, I noticed that it looked like he had been crying or had some form of meltdown and instantly, I slammed the book shut. Not aggressively, but loud enough to make him realise his bed was currently being occupied.

"Bloody hell Fred, what are you doing?" Ron jumped as he turned to look at me.

"Just checking up on my little brother, is all" I replied, crossing my arms over my chest and studying him closely.

His jaw was clenched and his hands tense, in fact, his whole body seemed tense and I knew it was about time to step up and ask him the most threatening question someone could be asked.

"What's going on, Ron?" I asked softly, budging over to make room for him to sit and join me if he wanted to.

Watching his movements, I saw as his eyes flickered to me and then to the empty space next to me, and then back to me again. I gave a soft, warm smile in hopes that maybe, just maybe, he'd open up to me for once. I waited patiently for him to think about it. He looked over at Harry's bed and then back out into the open space he came from.

"Where's Harry?" He asked.

"Talking to Cedric, I saw them after dinner having a conversation. Not too sure what about but, I think it's something to do with the tournament" I replied honestly.

As if he were worried someone would come in, he glanced back out the door before shutting the bedroom one, and turning to face me. He decided on joining me and I was glad he did.

"I've been a bit rotten, Fred" He began to speak and I just nodded to indicate I was listening.

"When we found out Harry's name was pulled from the Goblet, it pissed me off. I turned really cold towards him and we had an argument about it all." He paused to take a quick breath.

"To be honest, me and George were a bit surprised ourselves, but we know Harry will be okay" I commented, and Ron looked at me.

"I think I could've taken it better, or at-least have been happy for him but instead, I blew up at him and we've been avoiding each other since. I let the worst take over and I made these stupid badges out of... I don't know" Ron paused again.

"Jealousy? Anger?" I asked.

"Yeah. I guess you could say something like that" He openly admitted.

"That's not the only thing, though. I un-intentionally shoved Alyssa off today when she was just trying to help me, I feel awful about that, too." He added.

I felt my eyes flicker with sympathy for him, and looking down at the floor, I took a minute to plan my answer to what he had said, and just when it came to me, I put my reply out there.

"You know mate, sometimes we push away and take it out on the people we love the most, and we don't always mean to" I said, looking over at him and smiling gently.

Ron just stared at me for a little while before letting out a sigh and as he did, his whole body relaxed and he sunk down into a slouch, I propped one of my knees up on the bed as I turned my body more to face him. I watched as I saw his thinking face break through, and I could see the cogs going in his head. He turned to face me once more.

"What do I do?" He asked innocently.

"I can't just go and apologise and expect to be forgiven just like that, I shouldn't have done what I did to both Harry and Alyssa" He continued

"Hell, even the group of girls aren't best impressed with me, but I wouldn't be either if I were them. I know what it's like to get protective over friends" He finished, his head going back to look up at the ceiling.

Looking at him, I smiled when suddenly an idea popped into my head, and I knew that it was time to give him some big brother advice.

"If you want advice, take this from me." I began to say, and his head rolled to the side to look at me, an eyebrow raised.

"Give her a chocolate frog. I know how much you both love those little devils" I advised, and instantly, a smile creeped onto his face, a small chuckle escaping his throat, I found myself smirking.

"And where am I going to get those, hm?" He asked, raising his eyebrows and cocking his head to the side.

"Me and George just happen to have quite a few of them, thank you very much." I responded.

"Did you forget what your brothers are like? Mischief doesn't exist if its not Fred and George causing it" I reminded him.

My goal was achieved and Ron seemed happier and was chuckling away, we spent ten more minutes talking away until it was time to get an early night. Patting his back, I got up from his bed and wished him a good night, before leaving the room and shutting it behind me. Making my way back to bed, I thought about the announcement that is due to be made tomorrow.
