I awoke early Monday morning from the madding sound of my alarm. I picked up the device to turn it off and noticed that my phone was at full battery. Yui must've plugged it in once I had fallen asleep after staying up late into the night, talking to a special individual for hours. I force myself off of the warm sheets to prepare myself for the upcoming day. I was out the door within minutes, in fact even before my older sister who had woken up an hour before myself. I waited in the driver's seat of the black car for about another ten to fifteen minutes before Yui was ready to leave. I start the somewhat old car and wait for it to warm up before pulling up from the driveway. Yui had suggested for me to start getting extra practice since my driving assessment for a permit was right around the corner. After all, I was finally sixteen.

The car ride was silent on my end, Yui spent the whole ride on the phone with a colleague discussing today's work as well as what place to go for lunch. I didn't mind this however. What I did mind was my phone which was continuously buzzing with text messages, I avoided even glancing at my new device otherwise i'd get tempted to see what the messages read. I managed to keep my focus on the road all the way to the building of my school. I carefully parked the car and got out quickly to make it to class. Yui switched to the driver's seat and started making her way to her job. She waved to me as she drove off. As I walked down the crowded halls, I noticed a group of first years advertising a new club that had just opened up.

"Itsuki-kun!" A female from the group called out, "Interested in our new art club? We could really use new members!"

I smiled nicely as possible to the kind first year, "I'm not very artistically talented, but I know a few students in my class who would love joining. I'll let them know!"

"Okay, Thanks!" She says, handing me a flyer that I assumed she wanted me to give to a classmate.

I begin walking up the stairs to the second floor when I feel a flick on the back of my head. I turn around, ready to scold whoever had disrupted me, only to see Kaito.

"Calm down, it's just me." He says, going for a small peck on the cheek.

I quickly stopped him, "Hey, not here. We're in school." He seemed disappointed by my response, but knew that I was right. Even after a year or so, he still hadn't gotten used to the "no affection at school" policy we had come up with. He walked me to my classroom door and told me that after I had fallen asleep in the middle of our phone call, he messaged Yui asking her to plug my phone and such since I was dead asleep. I thank him for the kind gesture before entering the class for homeroom. He started walking off, reminding me to meet him at the rooftop for lunch. It wasn't necessary to remind me to do so, since I had been going to the rooftop since the very first day of my first year. I had never once stepped foot into the cafeteria my school had, especially since it's the only place Kaito and I could be alone at school (of course, not to do anything out of my better judgement). I found my seat in the middle row, it was close to my old seat as a first year but I no longer sat next to the window to admire the nature outside the old building. I take out a single pen and pad and place my bag underneath my desk. As I await for instructions I begin sketching on the notepad. My sketch was less than halfway done when the bell rings. The day has begun.
