"Because to take away a man's freedom of choice, even his freedom to make the wrong choice, is to manipulate him as though he were a puppet and not a person."

"Hey Jungkook, you're looking happy." Jimin observed when Jungkook sat down at the table, all of them meeting at the cafe again. "I am happy."

"Ooohh, why?" Taehyung leaned in, wanting to hear the latest scoop. "I have a date tomorrow afternoon!" The last half of a pencil suddenly rolled over the table, all of their eyes going towards the owner. "....Did you just break that pencil... with just your thumb?" Namjoon picked up the piece, looking over at Seokjin. "Apparant fucking ly Captain Obvious." Seokjin snatched his pencil back, stuffing it in his pencil case. The table fell quiet, only the chatter of other tables being heard.

Hoseok cleared his throat and put up his infamous smile. "Well, congrats Kook! With who?"

"He's very cute, his name is Myung and he is a year below us."

"Never heard of him before, is he popular?"

"Not at all, kinda a wallflower, but we have a few of the same interests!"

"Well good luck Kook!"

-

"It's bothering you."

"Your face? Because that is correct." Jimin rolled his eyes at Seokjin. He put off the movie they were watching. "Come on, no one is around here. It's just you and me here in my home. Spill the beans."

"I have no beans to spill." Jimin didn't even believe that for one second. "You are Kim Seokjin, you always have something to say."

"I do no-" Jimin shushed him, putting his index finger on Seokjin's lips. "Shhh... Yeah you do." Seokjin smacked his hand away, his eyes narrowed at him.

"Why did you even break up with him?" Seokjin opened his mouth but Jimin quickly interrupted him. "I don't want to hear the 'to make him happy' excuse, I want the real reason." Seokjin looked around the room before extending his pinky at Jimin. "Promise me. Absolutely fucking promise me, that you will not tell anyone about this." Jimin linked his pinky with Seokjin's. "Okay, I promise. What's the reason?"

Seokjin bit the inside of his cheek before deeply sighing. "His parents asked me to."

"WHAT!?"

-

"I really need to take a shower... Stay here!" Jungkook kissed Seokjin's temple and gave his waist a squeeze. "Yeah yeah, just go."

"Can you make...." Seokjin dropped his hand on top of his notebook. "Are you telling me you did none of your homework in the break?"

"...Uhhuh." Seokjin kicked Jungkook's butt. "Fine, go and shower stinky, I'll let you copy after you're done." Jungkook silently celebrated before sprinting upstairs.

The front door of Jungkook's home opened, his mother walking in with grocery bags. "Oh Seokjin, I didn't know you would be here today."

"Jungkook didn't say?" She shook her head, unloading the bags. After a few moments of awkward silence his mother spoke up again. "Say Seokjin... Can I ask a HUGE favor of you?"

"...Depends? What is it?"

"I need you to break up with Jungkook." She blurted out. "Absolutely not."

"Listen Seokjin, We as his parents have been talking and we don't think you are that good of an influence on our son. I mean, he is upset so often with you... That shouldn't be his most memorable love be." She flashed Seokjin a saddened look. "We are just worried for our son, that you don't make him happy anymore..." Seokjin opened his mouth only to close it again moments after.

"Oh- I didn't know he felt that way about us..."

"Yeah sorry sweetie, he's been saying that he regrets getting back together and is just afraid to call it quits because of the friendgroup... So please do us a favor and do it for him. Break up with Jungkook." She held Seokjin's hands, a worried expression washed over her face. Seokjin averted his gaze, swallowing back his tears. "I- uhm... Yeah I understand...? I'll... I'll call it quits when the opportunity strikes... I- want him to be happy too." Jungkook's mom softly smiled, stroking Seokjin's hair. "Glad you understand dear."

-

"I'll go smack a bitch-" Jimin stood up from his couch but Seokjin pulled him back down. "Seriously... Do not speak a word about this, especially not towards Jungkook."

"She manipulated you into breaking up with him! Jungkook has the right to know!"

"You promised!" Jimin sat back with a pout, sighing in defeat. "But why don't you get back with him?"

"Once I realised what actually happened... It was too late. He moved on." Jimin pulled his friend in for a hug, resting his head on Seokjin's shoulder. "I'm so sorry."

"You're sorry for me? You got kicked out by your own mother!"

"She still loves me, she just doesn't support my decisions." Jimin rubbed his hand up and down Seokjin's back. "By the way Jinnie, you can cry if you want. You don't always have to be strong until you are completely alone."
