"Desperation can make a person do surprising things."

Veronica Roth

Jimin hung up his apron and stretched himself out. "I'm checking out." His boss looked up from the cutting board. "Okay Jimin, see you!" Jimin waved his coworkers goodbye and slid his workpass through the device, his work hours were finally over.

He had gained a lot of tips tonight, he was sure that his mom would decline the help but it was worth the shot.

-

"Absolutely not."

"But mom!" Jimin's mother looked up from all the papers in her hand. "You're 17! I do not want you worrying about money. I'll work all the overhours that I can before I will even consider allowing you to help." Jimin looked at his mother who looked insanely tired but oh so stubborn.

"Seongja get back to work! The patients are waiting!" Jimin's mom squeezed her son's shoulder. "I'm proud of you no matter what you do Jimin. Just enjoy your carefree days now you still can." She patted his shoulder a few more times before resuming to work, leaving Jimin to just stand there. He let out a heavy breath, turning on his heel to leave.

"Stupid mom, with her stupid morals." Jimin muttered under his breath, walking towards the exit of the hospital.

"I heard you needed money." Jimin turned around and faced a shady looking man. "I already have a job."

"I will offer you more than double for your services." Jimin took a small step back from the man. "Sir I have no clue what services you are referring to but I am underage."

"That's how I like them." Jimin gagged, immediately turning to leave. "It's simple and you can do it from home! I will even buy the equipment for you." Jimin stopped in his tracks. "Explain."

-

"Jimin why the hell is your webcam good all of the sudden?" Jimin froze in his place, staring at his floor like a deer caught in headlights. He was videochatting with his friends who were exchanging homework answers considering they follow the same classes anyway. Most of the time it was just Namjoon saying his answer, the rest nodding and writing it down.

"I won a contest that gave you good computer equipment." Jimin smiled, acting like he was proud.

"I didn't hear of such a contest." Jungkook questioned, as the gamer of the group he surely would've heard about it. "What did you even need to do to win?"

Jimin faked a yawn "Oh my, it's so late. I'm going to sleep bye." He quickly hung up the call, of course they would know, they're teenage boys. If Jimin saw it himself he would've even questioned it.

-

"Didn't you think that was odd?" Taehyung turned around to Yoongi, who sat in the background to write down all the answers. "It's Jimin. He can think for himself, I'm sure whatever is going on isn't what you're thinking."

"I don't know, I have a bad feeling about this." Taehyung logged off the computer. "You have a bad feeling about so many things."

"And most of the time I'm right." Yoongi hummed, something about his tone sounded sceptical. "I've always been right regarding you!"

"But my situation was also like... very fucking obvious." Taehyung sighed. "I know, you nearly got thrown in jail for it eventhough you didn't do any of it yourself." Yoongi glared up at Taehyung. "I know you don't like me reminding you of your past, but it also shows how far you have gotten!" Yoongi stuffed his homework back in his bag. "So?"

"Oh come on baby, You've completely moved on from Hyeo-"

"Never, utter his name again."

A/N I don't wanna sound ungrateful but... silent readers... It would be nice if you gave me some reassurance that you still like the book so now and then... 'Cause everytime everyone falls silent is when I'm afraid that y'all have started hating the book... It doesn't need to be much... Just a vote or a comment with an emoji is enough for me to know that y'all are still here and still like what I'm writing.

Also, the more interaction I get, the more my book will get recommended to others... and considering I worked really hard on this book I would like it to have a broader audience.

Again, I'm happy y'all are reading it, I notice every chapter has at least 5 reads so I know there are a few of you. But I have no clue what y'all are thinking or if you even want to stick around...

Sorry for the rant but as an author, not getting feedback or a response to what you made can demotivate you a lot. :(
