"Right, and left. Step and touch,"
Holland and Flynn moved side by side to their teacher's dance instructions that Monday morning. Flynn had spent the entire morning dragging Holland from class to class and threatening all of the people that stared at her, news having already spread of what had transpired on Friday night at the dance. Holland was grateful, to say the least.
"What'd you do all day yesterday?" Flynn asked as they did a spin as their teacher instructed. "Spend all day with the boys?"
"Pretty much, they are great company,"
"Oh yeah," Flynn smirked, the pair stepping around each other and doing the next move. "Especially that guitarist that you're in love with."
"Flynn, we are not having this discussion,"
"I take that as you admitting it,"
The doors burst open, Julie flying into the room as everyone continued to dance. She shot her friends a look before walking up to their teacher.
"Ah, Julie. How nice of you to join us,"
"I'm so sorry, I overslept,"
The teacher waved her off as she moved over to the girls, taking her spot beside them and falling into step. Julie shot Flynn an aggravated smile.
"So, why didn't you wake me up? I missed my first three classes!"
"You said you were never going to show your face at school again. I'm a very literal person," Julie sighed, looking to Holland as she just shrugged.
"She is, Jules, you know that,"
Julie sighed, shaking her head at the girls.
"You know, Nick was pretty chatty at the dance," Flynn chimed in, sending their friend a suggestive eyebrow wiggle. "Have you talked to him today?"
"No, and I'm kind of dreading it,"
The three girls stood up with the rest of their class as the doors opened again. Holland and Julie's eyes widened as the coach of the lacrosse team entered the room, followed by his entire team.
Holland wouldn't have such a problem with it, if it weren't for the fact that Mason was also on the lacrosse team.
Her eyes couldn't help but find his own as he stood behind Nick. Thankfully, Nick seemed to shoot her a supportive smile as he ignored his old friend's presence. It was nice to know that he was at least on her side.
"Right on time, Coach Barron," their teacher spoke, walking up to greet the man before turning toward her class. "Students. Coach Barron and I have decided that his lacrosse team will be apart of our class for the next few weeks. Many pro athletes have used dance to help them with their coordination and mobility."
"This isn't about flirting with girls," the team laughed at the coach's comment as Mason's eyes found Holland, her two friends stepping in front of her protectively. "It's about making us better so we can actually win a game. We lost against Burbank...BURBANK!"
