Chapter 5.

Alayna's P.o.v

Moving Day.

Lets just say moving is thw worst experience of my life. It is so BORING. We have pretty much got the entire house unpacked.

Mum and Dad helped move the furniture into the house, but I had to put everything together, which is still a work in progress.

I might call Luke to see if he would come over and help me, he could see Melody and then I could lay around all day tomorrow.

"Hey Mel!" I yelled as I was sitting in the pretty vacant living room.

"WHAT MUM" she screamed back.

"COME HERE" I said.

I heard her pitter pattering feet as they came down the hard wood stairs and into the living room.

"What mummy?" she asked with her iPad clutched against her chest.

"How would you like if Luke came to visit us and help us unpack?"

"I don't care, I guess it would be okay" she said.

Well okay she obviously is not opinionated on this. I do need help though.

I unlocked my phone, scrolling to Luke's contact and dialing him.

"Hello? Alayna are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine, uhm so I was wondering are you busy right now?"

"No not at all why?"

"Well I was wondering if you could come help me put together some furniture? You could spend time with Melody why you're here to."

"Okay yeah sounds great, Where is your apartment?"

"569 Oakland Ridge, apartment 14"

"Okay see you in 15 minutes, bye Layna"

"Bye"

"Hey Melody, Luke will be here soon" I said sitting my daughter on my lap.

"I like Luke, he brought me chicken nuggets at the food place" She said tapping away on one of her games.

"Yeah, I think its his job sweetie" I said slightly laughing to myself.

"No its not" she said.

She always has to be right, a quality she got from me.

Deciding not to argue with her, I began unpacking some of the dishes in our little kitchen when I heard a knock at the door.

I began walking towards the door past Melody. I looked through the peep hole in the door because you can't be too careful. I immediately saw Luke with his hands in his pocket biting his lip. I opened the door, he gave me his world famous smirk.

"Hey Layna" He said smiling.

"Hey Luke" I said.

"Melody Da- I mean Luke's here"

"Can we tell her? The whole friend thing is getting really fucking old"

"Look, we'll talk about it later"

"Hi Luke" Melody said with her fingers in her mouth. She only did this when she was nervous.

"Hey Mel" he said squating down to her height, "Are you gonna help me put furniture together?"

"I don't know about that" she said giggling.

"Yeah well you and I both kid" He said laughing, "Okay Layna where is this furniture."

" It's upstairs, i need you to out the beds together, thanks again"

"Anytime" he said as I led everyone up the stairs into my room that was currently covered in boxes.

"Okay well I'll leave you two alone" I said stepping out of the room leaving Luke and Melody in my room, but I wasn't leaving them alone, I will wait right outside in the hallway.

Luke's P.o.v

"So Melody do you like to build things?" I asked her.

I couldn't believe how big she was, she looked alot like Alayna, other than her blonde hair.

"I've never really built before, at our old house everything was already there" she said sitting cross legged beside of me.

"Well that's nice huh? Where did you live?" I said as I was getting all the pieces of Alayna's bed together and screwing the frame together.

"Seattle, I like your pictures" She said touching my arm.

"They're actually called tattoos and thank you" I said laughing at her. She was a funny little girl.

"Well they look like pictures"

"They are pictures, they're permanent pictures so they get a special name"

"I like that, I might get one to"

"Maybe when you're older"

"Luke, did you know our hair is the same" she said standing up and walking over to me, "See!" she said showing me her hair and putting it against mine.

"Yeah it is" I said.

"We have dots to" she said pointing to the dimple of her cheek.

"Yeah we do, don't we" I said.

I wish she knew the truth. I don't wanna be Alayna's friend, I want to be Melody's dad. She deserves to know and I think it's really shitty of Layna to keep this from her, but I am walking on egg shells as is so I'm gonna try not to push my luck with this.
