Chapter 6.

Alayna's P.o.v

I was listening to them talk the entire time. I was so sure Luke was gonna tell Mel that he was her dad when she said they shared "spots" and the same hair.

I cant protect her forever, but I want to. She's never been hurt emotionally in her life and I just want to keep her from it as long as I can.

I know I'm not being fair to Luke, but being left two times by the same guy, makes you have some trust issues.

I heard them standing up and walking towards the door. I ran over to the stairs and pretended to be walking up them.

Luke had Melody attached to his hip, with her head leaned into the crook of his neck.

"Looks like you guys played hard huh?" I said reaching my arms out for Melody.

"Yeah we did" she said yawning as she transferred from Luke to me.

"Lets lay you down for a nap on the couch yeah?" I asked her brushing her mop of hair out of her face.

"okay mummy" she said leaning against me.

I carefully walked down the stairs, made my way into the living room and laid her on the couch.

"Hey Luke can you hand me that blanket?" I asked.

"Absolutely" He said picking it up and walking it over to me.

Melody was asleep as soon as her little head hit the pillow.

"Lets go upstairs to talk" I said in a hushed whisper.

I guess Luke heard me cause he followed me upstairs and into my empty bedroom.

"Layn, look when she wakes up I need to tell her, its killing me."

"I know, but if you're in, you're all in. You can't leave her just because you decide you want to spend time with your new girlfriend. Shes sensitive and she's fragile"

"I wont, I just want my daughter to know shes my daughter."

"Okay.. you can tell her, but don't think that just because now you have a title, you get custody."

"I'd like it if I could half..."

"Look I'm letting you into her life so don't push it"

"Got it." He said shoving his hands in his pockets.

"I've missed you" he said in a hushed whisper.

"You knew my number" I said quietly.

"You told me not to call"

"Doesn't mean I meant it"

"You're complicated Layna"

"I'm actually not."

"We should go sit downstairs and wait for her to wake up, she gets scared when shes by herself" I said rubbing my arm and beginning to walk downstairs.

"Layna" Luke said grasping my hand.

As soon as I could react I jerked away.

"Sorry" I said looking at my feet.

"Its fine" he said walking towards me.

"Luke..." I whispered knowing what he was doing.

"Shh Alayna" He said cupping both his hands under my face "You always talk too much" he was getting really close.

"Just let me do this" He said as he pressed his lips to mine, they were so warm, with the exception of his lip ring which was very chilling. They are exactly how I remember them.

We pulled apart and he looked into my eyes.

"I missed you"

"Luke.." I said quietly.

"We don't have to do this now"

"okay thank you"

He began walking down the stairs and went straight into the living room.

I followed behind him, for some reason I thought he was mad.

He kissed Melody's head and looked at me.

"I uhm better go and I was wondering if I could take Melody to meet my mum and dad?" He asked shyly rubbing the back of his neck.

"Uhm i dont know Luke... Okay fine" I said completely regretting it after I said it 

"Okay thanks, I know Mum will be thrilled to see her" He said giving his world famous smirk.

"You could come get her tomorrow and take her to see them, I need to get some shopping done" I said quietly.

"Okay yeah that sounds great I'll pick her up in the morning." He said as he made his way towards the door.

"See ya then" I said as he opened the door and began to walk out it.

"Luke wait!" I said panicked.

"Yeah?"

"I missed you too Luke" I said smiling at him.

"Night  Layna" He said walking off, into his car.

What the hell did I just do?
