Promise me.. Ch 26

My heart dropped when I saw his tears pour from his eyes. His phone slipped out of his hand and he began to fall apart right in front of me..

"Oh my gosh, Liam what's the matter??" I power off my phone quickly and jet forward. He can't speak though.. This is heartbreaking..

My arms chain around his body and he hides his face in the crook of my neck.

"Liam what's wrong?? What happened??" I'm beginning to get teary eyed
"My friend from back home.. This friend I've grown up with as a child has just-" he breaks into pieces again
"Just what?" I wipe his eyes and he's starting to calm down but I know it won't last
"He got into a serious car accident Noel.. He's in the hospital now and I-" he loses himself once more
"Ahw oh my gosh Liam! I'm so sorry!" I lower my head down into his neck and continue to hold his body while he holds mine.

We stay that way for a minute or two. When we detach from one another, I mop away his tears.

"Let's lay down.." I quietly say.. He nods and we relax on the bed together. I caress his skin often and I have to admit that I'm doing a good job of calming him down.

As we lay in the darkness, his body seems to slowly shift over half on mine. I kiss his forehead and he rests his head in the crook of my neck again..

I rub his back softly and he is now completely calm. So I thought about a few things for a moment. And I figured now would be a perfect time.. The perfect time to sing..

"The dawn is breaking. A light shining through.. You're barely waking.. And I'm tangled up in you.." I began to sing 'Collide' by Howie Day.. One of my favorites

Liam's hands come up my body. His right arm over my head, hovering his body over mine. His left hand rested on my back and gently scratched my skin but it felt relaxing.

His right knee came down next to my left side to help him support himself. My hands came up to his shoulders and brushed along his broad chest.

A light soft smile displayed on his wondrous face.. I knew by this expression he enjoyed this song as well..

"I'm opened, you're closed. Where I follow, you'll go. I worry I won't see your face.. Light up again"

My hands then make their way to his neck, where they rest behind his head.

"Even the best fall down sometimes. Even the wrong words seem to rhyme. Out of the doubt that fills my mind, I somehow find.. You and I.. Collide.."

His body came down just a little closer. I felt great singing in front of Liam. I could tell he was really enjoying this..

"You're amazing.." He whispers

I plant a sweet kiss on his cheek and continue my song while blushing wildly.

"I'm quiet, you know.. You make a first impression. I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind.." I can't get over the smile on his face though

"Even the best fall down sometimes. Even the stars refuse to shine. Out of the back you fall in time.. I somehow find.. You and I.. Collide.."

His body finally came down on top of mine. His head in the crook of my neck but he didn't kiss me there..

"Don't stop here. I've lost my place. I'm close behind.." My leg lifted to his side

"You're voice is heavenly love.." He whispers
"Thank you.." I quietly say and smile widely
Suddenly he grips my waist firmly with both of his hands. His head comes out from my neck and his forehead presses against mine.

I continue to sing for him..

"Even the best fall down sometimes. Even the wrong words seem to rhyme. Out of the doubt that fills your mind.. You finally find.. You and I.. Collide.." Our breath is warming up against each other's skin
