Peter P.O.V
I catch up to Ned in the hall way, "dude, you missed it! I just talked to Callie Stark!" I blurt out, breathless with excitement. At first I was humiliated that she witnessed Flash's bullying, but then she shook my hand and my insides turned to jelly.
"What? No way!" Ned half shrieks, half whispers. "What did you talk about? Her dad? Captain America? Are you going to her house? Oh my god, can I come?"
"What?" I laugh, "no Ned. I literally just said my name and shook her hand!" I suddenly feel ridiculous about my excitement for literally speaking a single sentence, but I can't help but laugh at Ned's enthusiasm.
"Oh, well, I guess that's cool too," he shrugs half heartedly as we walk to our lockers to prepare for our next class. "Do you want to come work on the Millennium Falcon tonight?" He asks while he begins ruffling through the new pile of books.
We both scrimped and saved for months to get the Millennium Falcon LEGO set, it's about half finished but what we really want is the Death Star. Unfortunately it's at least double the cost so it will take us awhile before we can buy it."Yeah sure, I just have some stuff to do right after school, but I can come later." I agree, thinking greedily of my after school hobby of flying from building to building with my new found abilities.
"What could you possibly have? It's the first day of school!"
"Oh you know, I have to help Aunt May with... cleaning and stuff..." I trail off, not wanting to give away too much.
"That's so lame Peter, it feels like she's having you cleaning and doing chores, you're like, male Cinderella!" He sighs disheartened and I feel a twinge of guilt. It's true, I haven't been making a whole lot of time for Ned, and I truly feel bad about it.
"I know, sorry, I'll talk to her and see if I can get out of if okay?" I say, thinking I'll just do a few hours of 'friendly neighborhood Spider-Man' work before heading to my best friend's place, that should be believable.
"Okay, fine, but you'd better actually try." He grumbles, slamming his books unceremoniously into his bag.
"Sorry," I say, rubbing my head guiltily. I do genuinely feel badly. I've definitely been neglecting our friendship lately, but I plan to do better.

Callie P.O.VI made it through my morning classes without a hitch, and am trying to follow the wave of students to the cafeteria where I said I'd meet Harry. The aroma of chicken pot pie hits my nostrils allowing me to breathe a sigh of relief—I am going the right direction.
The long hallway finally breaks through into a large white room filled with large rectangular tables and a buffet style line with a soft, kindly looking woman dishing up scoopfuls of pot pie onto plates.
I decide to get into the cue while I wait for Harry, as I slowly make my way towards the warm meal, my attention is drawn to a table directly ahead of me where a pair of boys is sitting, their eyes glued straight ahead as they murmur to one another.
I feel my stomach drop slightly, it's the boy from this morning, Peter. I twist to see what they're staring at and heat rushes to my face, a girl with beautiful dark, wavy hair, and a deep smooth complexion. She is balancing precariously on a ladder her short skirt pulling up dangerously high as she reaches to hang a blue banner that reads "Homecoming is almost here, are you ready?" in big pink letters.
I quickly look away, embarrassed by my attraction to the boy who clearly has eyes for someone else. Just as I'm thinking about seeing if Dad will let me homeschool another year, an arm loops through mine and pulls it's owner into line with me.
