I rush down to the shop and collapse into a rolling chair, clutching my chest. I feel like I'm on the verge of panicking. What was that? Why did I do that? I mean we've always been close but it was more of a 'father-son' thing, atleast that's what I thought.

I breath in slowly, doing the exercises Bruce showed me to calm myself. I think what's psyching me out the most is the way he looked at me after, like he wanted to kiss me again, and that I wouldn't have been upset about it.

I've calmed myself enough that I can stand, okay, panic attack averted. I should go talk to Callie, not only about what she may have just witnessed, but about that damned cell phone.

I trudge up the stairs to my kid's room, knocking lightly, "hey it's Dad."

I hear a begrudging "come in," so I do. Callie is lying on the bed face down, propped up on her elbows, texting rapidly.

"Who're you texting?" I ask casually, sitting down beside her.

"Just Harry," she sighs, putting down the phone and sitting up to face me. Something is wrong, she is incredibly agitated, her eyes look pained but she has a stubborn set to her jaw and I can tell she doesn't plan on confessing anything to me.

"So why are you so upset? Remember I told you if you don't tell me what's going on I'll be taking that phone." I remind her.

"You said tonight, you'd take it tonight." She says earnestly, grabbing the device in her slender hands.

"You really don't plan on telling me hey?"

She shakes her head, "there's nothing to tell."

"Honestly kid, I don't believe you." She opens her mouth to protest but I cut her off, "I know it's been weird between us the last few months. I don't know if it's because you're going through puberty or if it really is about my sex life, but I've been like this since you were small and it was never an issue before you went to school. And now you're suddenly having problems with Steve, for no explicable reason."

She just shrugs and lays back down. I grab her knee, "Callie can you talk to me about this please?"

"Just because I didn't notice it before, or didn't know it was abnormal doesn't mean it isn't an issue." She clips back.

The words sting a little but I let them sink in, "you know what, I agree with you. It is an issue." She does a double take and sits up, now invested and suddenly I know it's the right time. "Actually, there's something I've been wanting to talk to you about."

"What?" She says, drawing out the word and narrowing her eyes.

"Do you remember Pepper?"

She freezes, "yes, I think so. She wasn't very nice."
