Ridwaan closed his eyes as soon as Farzana left the room and he clenched his fist.Dammit,out of everything that I could say why did I say that,he questioned himself.Verily when anger overtook a person he was the most dangerous.
"Daddy." Ridwan turned to walk to the bed where he found Ahmed propped up against the pillows,his face covered in sadness,"That wasn't nice of you to shout mama,daddy.I was the one who told mama to go check up on the twins so if you blame mama then you need to blame me also."
Ridwaan's eyes went wide as he heard what Ahmed had to say,"Ahmed,are you lying to protect your mama?"
Ahmed crossed his hands over his chest,"Daddy,do you think I would lie to you?I promise,I was the one who told mama to go see the twins.Mama didn't want to go,she said she'd wait for you but I forced her because it wasn't fair that she didn't see the twins the whole day."
Ridwaan rubbed his hand across his face then ran his hand through his hair,"Shit."
"Bad word,daddy." Ahmed scolded from the bed,his mouth turning a pout,"You are being a bad boy today,daddy.You better say sorry to mama,daddy." Ahmed looked away from him,staring out the windows and Ridwaan made his way to the bed,sitting down next to Ahmed.He put his hand on Ahmed's shoulder only for Ahmed to move away,"Until you don't say sorry to mama,daddy you can't touch me."
Ridwaan now had two people who he had to cajole and he nodded his head,"Okay,I'll apologize to your mama.Do you want to change into your pajamas and come with me to our room so you can sleep there tonight?"
Ahmed nodded as he pushed the comforter away,"Nam,I will but only because you made mama sad,daddy and she probably wants to see me."
"I need to hold you to make sure you won't fall." Ridwaan reminded Ahmed who reluctantly nodded his head.
"Okay but that is only why you can touch me then,daddy."
Ridwaan helped Ahmed to his closet before leaving him to change then they both begun to walk to Ridwaan and Farzana's room.Ridwaan's heart pounded against his chest as he entered the room only to find Farzana on the floor with the twins but while the twins walked around,Farzana sat at the window and looked outside.
"Mama."
"Dada."
At Ahmed and Hafsa's voice she turned her head,only to look at Ahmed who came towards her and wrapped his arms around her,"Don't worry,mama.I told daddy the truth that I sent you to meet the twins and I shouted him for making you sad,so now you don't have to be sad mama." He pulled back,still whispering,"You know mama,daddy is going to apologize but don't forgive him.Mummy always said that when daddy makes a mistake he must work his way to get his forgiveness so don't forgive him now."
Farzana could not help but smile at the child who held his arms around her neck,his advice that he had got from his mother did not hurt her heart because she knew he was right,"Nam,I will of course make your daddy work to earn his forgiveness.Jazakallah for the tip and as a jazakallah to your mummy,I will read a Yaseen for her as esaale sawaab.Is that okay?"
