GLOWING ~ Julie and the Phantoms

~ Chapter 15 ~

No one's POV ~

Julie: Luke!! Luke wait!!

Julie's begging for Luke to wait and stop, but that had little effect on the guitarist as he keeps walking.

Julie: God, Luke stop!!

Luke freezes as he hears the unfamiliar angry voice come from the sweet girl he knows.

Luke: What Julie?

As he talks he still refuses to turn around and look at Julie.

Julie: We need to talk.

Luke: No, we don't. Everything has been said.

Julie: Could you just look at me?

Luke: No, Julie I won't.

Julie: Why are you just walking away from your family, they didn't do this. I did. I hurt you, stop taking this out on Alex and Reggie.

Luke still refuses to turn around as he answers.

Luke: Yea, the family who didn't stick by me. Some family they are.

Julie: No, you do not get to talk about them like that, they have stuck by you your whole life. All they want now is for you to be you again.

Julie is starting to tear up, but little does she know that so is he.

Luke: I am me! Just a broken version, that you made.

Julie has been slowly approaching Luke and slowly puts her hand on his shoulder.

Julie: Luke, I... Can you please look at me?

Luke moves quickly away from Julie so her hand is no longer on him.

Luke: I will not turn around!

Julie: And why not?!?

She says this in the same tone as Luke. Loud!

Luke: Because! I know if I turn around and look at you, all the pain will come back and hit me. I can't- I won't do that to myself. I can't do this Julie, I got to go.

Luke begins to walk away from the crying girl.

Julie: Luke!!

Julie: Wait!!!

Julie: I Love You!!!

This causes Luke to stop dead in his tracks.

Luke: What?

Julie: I love you. I love you so much it hurts. I have loved you for so long it just took me so long to realize it. Every time we wrote to-

As Julie is speaking he slowly turns around with blurry eyes and a tear stained face.

Julie: -gether, sung together. Did practically anything together. I felt it, just didn't know how to deal with it. And once I finally new my feelings, I was going to tell you. I really was, but then instead I had to break you and myself to keep you safe. He blackmailed me Luke! Made me say these awful things to you, not caring what would happen. He just wanted you all out of the way, and made me do it. 

Julie is now sobbing as she is talking, but Luke can hear her perfectly.

Julie: He said if I didn't do it, he would kill yall, and I couldn't put me before you. So I did what he said. I dated Nick, I quit the band and said I never even wanted to be in it. All to keep you safe, but then you left. You were here, but it just wasn't you. I had realized that I actually broke you, and it crushed me.

Luke is listening to every word that is coming out of her mouth slowly coming closer to her. As tears are falling down his face.

Julie: The pain the guilt it was swallowing me whole, then the guys found me. We have a plan Luke. To get rid of Caleb. I am so sorry for the pain I caused you. We just need you back, I need you.

Luke is now in arms length away from Julie.

Julie: Just come back to me, please. Just co-

Julie is cut off with Luke's lips on her. It takes her by surprise, but it doesn't take her long to return the kiss back. It's filled with all the held up emotion from both Julie and Luke. Their lips are saying what their words can't. Saying how much they missed each other, and how much the need each other. Luke brakes the kiss, still holding on to Julie's face. Wiping her tears from her face and staring into her eyes.

Julie: I guess you turned around.

They both laugh at her attempt at humor in this situation.

Luke: Oh Julie, I am so sorry. I was so mean to you, I just wanted to feel better so I shut it all out. Music, the band, you, nothing was working so I just used hostility to keep it out.  The thought of you out of my life even as a friend destroyed me. 

The two are holding each other so close. Afraid if they let go, they will wake up from a dream.

Luke: The things I said to you weren't even close to the truth, cause the truth is that I love you. More than music more than life. Music doesn't complete me, you do. I never thought that was possible, for me to love something more than music. But back then I didn't know you.

With all of the feelings out in the air, Julie catches Luke's lips back into a long and passionate kiss. Since everything is out in the open, they just enjoy being back in each others arms. They end the kiss in each others arms and are smiling up at each other.

Caleb: Aww how cute, the two lovebirds finally confessed. That is just wonderful.

Luke puts a protective arm around Julie and pulls her closer.

Luke: What do you want?

Caleb: Oh the protective boyfriend I see, well miss Julie knows that she was not allowed to pull Lukey out of his downward spiral. But she did it anyway. So I am here to teach her a lesson.

Julie: No, don't hurt them.

Caleb: Oh I have too, but the best way to hurt someone is to take away the thing they love the most. With that said-

Caleb quickly grabs Julie away from Luke using his magic.

Luke: NO! Caleb please don't!

Caleb has Julie under his arm holding her tight, as Julie is squirming trying to get free.

Julie: Let me go

Caleb: Oh Luke, you should know pleases don't work on me. Now bye-bye.

Caleb flashes out with Julie in his arms.

Luke: NO!!! JULIE!!!

He drops to the floor crying.

Luke: NO NO NO!! This is not happening!!

You know, I really started this chapter out with the mind set of making it a happy one. To stop Luke's suffering, but then my mind went to the dark places it can go and took a different direction. So more sad puppy Luke. Yayyy! I do promise, we will get happy puppy Luke again, just not for a while. I know I'm evil. You don't have to tell me twice. Luv yall!!!!
