'Isn't it lovely?'

"Everything will be okay." Kyle tries to reassure me, but I know he's just as frightened as I am. What if something really bad was happening to her?
"I don't know Kyle. Shit sounded pretty serious." I sighed as my legs continuously shook. Kyle decided to drive because I know I was not stable enough to. My mind kept wandering to what could possibly be happening to Elle.
"Her streets on the next right turn, right?" He asked while signalling to the right. "Yea,"
He turned towards her street and suddenly my stomach dropped as soon as I saw her house. "It's this one in the middle, right?" He motions to the house in the center of the street and I responded by nodding. We noticed a beat-up car sitting awkwardly in her driveway so Kyle decided to park on the curb.
As we walked to her house, we noticed that the door was slightly opened. Kyle and I looked at each other before silently walking into her home. I pulled my phone out calling Elle to find out where she was hiding.
"H-hello?" She whispered. "Where are you Elle, I'm here," I responded. She was silent for a moment before letting me know she was upstairs in her bathroom. Kyle and I quickly ran up her stairs before searching for her bathroom when I noticed a door slightly creaked with broken glass around it.
"I think she's in there," Kyle nods towards the door. We both walked in and the first thing we saw was Elle, cuddled up in the corner shaking.
My heart hurt to see her like this.
"Elle," I say as I crouched down and reached out to her. She flinched for a moment before looking up at me, suddenly calming down. "It's okay, we're here now," Kyle says for the both of us. Her lips quivered as she struggled to speak. I held my arms out pull her from the ground, but as she reached for mine, I noticed the glass stuck inside of her fingers.
"Who did this to you?" I mumble out but she shy's away.
Kyle looked through her cabinets and lockers, after a few minutes he found some tweezers and handed them to me. "This is gonna hurt. Are you okay with that?" All she manages to do is nod.
Who managed to hurt her like this?
I pick out the glass that remained in her hands. After, I grabbed a towel and added a tad bit of water to it, using it to clean the blood off of her. Kyle managed to clean the glass that surrounded us, I made a mental note to thank Kyle for everything he's done for me.
"Who did this to you, Elle?" I asked. She looks down as if she was embarrassed to answer the question. "Whatever it is, I won't judge you," I reassured her and she sighs.
"My d-dad." She whimpers out. I noticed the tears that forcefully came out of her eyes and all I could do was hold her at that moment.
No wonder why she left that topic untouched.
"Where is he now?"
Before she answered, we heard a faint scream coming from down the stairs.
"Was that your mom?" She nods before she started to shake again.
"Hey, everything will be okay, alright? I promise." I gave her a kiss on her forehead before nodding at Kyle, "Call the cops," I quietly tell him before heading down the stairs to make the fucker suffer for hurting my baby.
