As I walked down the aisle the train of my wedding dress following like a river of lace, I couldn’t believe I was going to marry a prince. This was every girls dream to marry a prince and become a princess. But it isn’t as easy as you might think. Let me rewind to about 12 months back.
It was a hot day in mid-August and I was trying to find a cool place to spend a few hours because my air conditioning went out in my apartment again. So, I walked into this nice little boutique. When I finished shopping and had cooled down I walked out the door and was immediately knocked down by this guy who seemed to be in a huge hurry.
“Hey! Watch it!” I yelled as I fell to the ground.
“Oh! Pardon me Miss. I am so sorry. I didn’t see you there. Are you alright?” He said with an accent I had never heard before.
As he held out his hand for me to get up I stood up on my own. “I’m fine.” I said as I dusted off myself.
As he smiled at me my anger slowly melted away. I don’t know what it was but he had this way about him that was very sweet and gentle.
“I’m Matthew Alexander Maximus Robert Vaughn the fourth.”
‘Wow’ I thought.
“You aren’t from around here are you?” I said feeling like it was maybe a rude thing to ask.
“No. I am not from here. “
“Where are you from then? I’ve never heard an accent like that before. “
“I am from an island off the coast of Scotland called Manson.”
I couldn’t help but smile. He was just so nice. He was the most handsome guy I had ever seen.
The next thing I knew, he was grabbing my hand and my bag and we were running down the sidewalk of Downtown Indiana. We then ducked down an alley and he leaned against me. As I looked over his shoulder I saw a mob of people run past the alley with cameras.
“Are you famous?”
“In a way yes. Hey, wanna go get a drink or something?”
“Sure. I’d like that.”
“Okay.” He said with a smile he held out his hand and as I took it I didn’t seem so hot anymore. As we walked to the nearest bar he ordered us two drinks and we sat down.
“So, tell me about yourself-“
“Xander.” He interrupted. “You can call me Xander.”
“Okay, Xander, Tell me about yourself.”
“Well, You already know my name. You already know I’m sort of famous and you know where I’m from. What would you like to know?”
“Um, how about some of your favorite things.”
“Okay, Well, I like music, I like dancing, reading, I like spending time with the people I hold dearest to my heart.”
I couldn’t help but smile. “Wow. So, do you have a girlfriend?”
“Nope. I don’t have a girlfriend, and I’m not married if that was going to be your next question.”He said with a grin.
I think I blushed so hard that the whole bar noticed.
Later that evening he was walking me home and as we got to my apartment he lifted my hand and kissed it gently.
“I had a good time today Xander. It was a lot of fun.”
“I had fun too. Can...can I see you again?”
“sure. I’d like that.”I said with a smile as I blushed again.
“Good. I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning then. Say, 8:30?”
“Sure.”
“Okay. Make sure you wear your swim suit.” He grinned. “I’ll see you tomorrow then.”
“Okay. See you tomorrow.”
“Bye.” He started to walk backwards and tripped and fell down.
“Oh! Xander! Are you okay?”
He jumped up quickly. “Yep! I’m okay! See you tomorrow.”
As I watched him leave I thought I recognized him. I didn’t worry about it though. I couldn’t believe it. I had a date. I wanted to go to sleep so it would be morning already but I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited.
“Until tomorrow Xander.” I said as I layed my head down on the couch and fell asleep.
