By the time I stopped running I had tears running down my face, and my face was burning it was so hot. I couldn’t believe Xander,  but I suppose he did it for my own good. He did say he loved me, and I guess it was for a good reason. But how could his mother not like me?

I could hear someone calling my name so I started to walk further and further into the woods. As I got deeper and deeper into the woods I got more and more frightened. I was so scared I started yelling!

“XANDER! Xander help! I need you!! Please! Help! I’m scared!” I sat down on the cold wet ground and began to cry. The next thing I knew there was someone with their arms around me. I didn’t even care who it was, I put my head in their chest and fell asleep. When I woke up the next morning I was in a little cottage, I could hear wind chimes and I could hear the sound of waves crashing against the sand and I could smell sea salt. I got up because I could smell fresh coffee. When I walked into the kitchen no one was there. I couldn’t remember how I got there. When I walked out onto the porch I saw Xander. I sighed shakily, and walked over to him.

“Thanks for bringing me here...”I said standing next to him.

“You’re welcome. Are you still mad at me?”  He seemed a little bit sad.

“I mean, at first I was furious with you. But I’m not now. I love you.”

He started to cry.

“Xander? Sweetie whats wrong? I said I wasn’t mad at you anymore.”

“My um...my dad died after you left...” He cried more.

“Oh! Xander, I’m so sorry.” I hugged him tightly. “I’m sorry honey. But, hey, he’s in a better place now.”

“I know...its just really hard...”

“I know...hey, let’s go back. I know your mom must be grieving as much as you are. Come on. Let’s go.” I took his hand and we walked back to the castle and I waited as he talked with his mother.

The next couple of days it was really hard for Xander. Especially since he had a whole new set of responsibility’s since his father died.

On the day of the dance I was so nervous, I didn’t think I’d be able to remember how to dance.

By the time it was time for the dance I felt like I was the only person who didn’t know anybody besides Xander.

I was sitting alone watching Xander greet all the different people and I watched him laugh and smile. I didn’t dance the entire night.  The next thing I knew this handsome guy walked up to me and asked me to dance. I was so embarrassed that I told him no.

I looked up and saw Xander standing in front of me. “Hey.”

“Hey. Why aren’t you dancing?” he sat next to me holding my hand.

“Oh, I just didn’t want to.”

“Oh, come on. Its even a slow song. Come on. Come dance with me.” He smiled sweetly.

“Okay.”

He took me by the hand, and led me to the dance floor. As we started dancing I felt so safe with him, I layed my head on his shoulder and I felt like there was no one else in the room with us. We danced like that for hours. Even after the party ended.

I started to get really tired, and I remember yawning and closing my eyes. I woke up the next morning in my huge bed. I walked downstairs and heard Xander and his mother arguing again. I didn’t even want to hear them fighting again so I went back to bed.
