I hadn't seen James since the morning after our date. We woke up and he had to go home because he was supposed to receive some package for his mom and dad who were also away. We texted a lot and I couldn't get enough of him. I had avoided texting Sydney after I said hey and she didn't answer. I finally decided to call James for the first time in three days.
"James," I said softly.
"Ugh Riley I miss you!" He said and I could here excitement in his voice at the same time.
"I miss you too. I have to see you soon." I said. It went silent and James wasn't responding. All I heard was somebody talking in the back.
"J-James?" I stuttered worriedly.
"Yeah." He said and I smiled at myself.
"So when do you want to get together?" I asked walking around my room in circles. I didn't hear him and I just heard the girl in the background. Wait- a girl. Who is she? Riley stop. Take a deep breathe.
"James? Hello? Where are you?" I asked and then I heard him.
"Yeah yeah sorry. I'm just here at home." He said and his voice soothed me but the line went silent again. The girl was talking and I could just about make out what she was saying.
"I'm so glad to see you again, I missed you so much!" It was a high voice and definitely a girl. I was so disappointed, why'd this always happen to me. I second guess myself and bam. Everything goes wrong.
"Bye," I said softly and hung up. I just stared at my phone. I was hovering my fingers above my keyboard. Should I text him? No. I moved my fingers away. He should text me first. Wow I'm so bipolar when it comes to these things. He was obviously very busy. I was just about to type something when my phone vibrated in front of me. It was Emily calling. I didn't know what to do. I had to answer because it might've been an apology or something. I forgot what we even fought about anyways.
"Hello?" I said weakly.
"Riley!" She said in a panic and I thought it was just excitement.
"Get to the hospital now!" She said weakly on the other end.
"Em...what is it?" I asked, with my voice shaky.
"West and Giselle, they're...here." She said and she was definitely crying. It was hysterical. It was a cry I've never heard before from her.
"I'm coming right now." I quickly said rushing to grab my purse and I ran out the door and into my car. I didn't know what hospital I was even going to, so I just pulled up at the nearest one I could think of hoping there were there. I realized there were tears landing on my track pants I'd worn for a few days now. I didn't even know what happened or why I was crying. I ran through the emergency doors and up to the beautiful lady at the front desk.
"West or Giselle, I need to see them!" I said half yelling and sobbing.
"Okay sweetie calm down. I'll find them." She said and she turned around to her computer. I paced around the desk and she finally turned around to face me. She had a polite and soothing smile on her face that made me more calm.
"They're just up on the second floor, we put them both in a room." She said stumbling to where they were located.
"Thank you." I said sincerely and tried giving her a smile and then I ran to the elevator. I pulled out my phone and there were texts from James.

Riley why'd u hang up
I know ur mad

I ignored the texts and didn't bother to unlock my phone. I waited for the stupid slow elevator doors to open and thank god they finally did. I searched up and down the hallway until I got to a little waiting room where I saw Emily and some other people.
"Emily!" I said and we were both red eyed and she was crying and so was I. She pulled me into a tight hug and that was all I needed. I squeezed her and held her for a while but I had to jump to conclusion.
"W-what happened?" I asked grabbing her hand and sitting down, ignoring all the other people I knew around me. All I wanted to hear was Emily right now.
"They were driving to come see me. T-to visit me-" she sobbed and squeezed my hand tighter. I nodded for her to continue.
"They crashed the car and, and...they-they're..." She stopped and I let out a gasp and then tears rushed down my face.
"They're gone?" I whispered and dug my head in her shoulder. She pulled me out and looked me deeply in the eyes.
"No. No, no. Don't say that. They're not. They're just struggling right now." She said and I could see she was still just in shock from all of this. I gave her hand another squeeze and stood up to see miss Kate. Her eyes were red but there were no tears. She looked really rough though and I'd never seen her this way.
"I'm glad you're here." She said and I hugged her tightly. She didn't let go for a while and finally I pulled away.
"They're not...gone, are they?" I asked in my smallest voice and I couldn't even recognize myself. Miss Kate grabbed my hand sympathetically.
"No honey. They're fighting. But we all know them, they'll be fine." She said and it made me much more calm. They'll be fine.
"Everybody's making their way here so we can be together," she said looking at her watch and then she pulled out her phone looking if she's received anything. She put it back in her pocket and shrugged. That meant James would be here.
