James POV

Riley agreed to going to the party and it was already 11:45. I was open to letting her go back to her house until the party if she's bored of me. I also actually felt kind of bad for what I had done the night before because I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable so I decided to take a tiny step back.
"You can go home if you want, and I'll pick you up at 8." I suggested washing the last dish from the pancakes me and her had made together for breakfast.
"Sounds good." She said pecking me a kiss on my ear. It was actually surprising because she was okay with going home so we could both get ready and spend a little bit of time alone.
"Bye Riles." I said pecking her a kiss on her head and she looked up and smiled. She was walking out of the kitchen to go home when I stopped her and grabbed her arm.
"I'm really sorry about last night. I had no idea what I was doing and I know I might've made you uncomfortable. It was just...weird, I don't know, sorry." I said noticing I was still holding her arm. I let go and she smiled politely.
"That's okay. You don't have to apologize. See you, text me." And with that she was out the door. I had to admit that I was kind of proud that we had come so far with our relationship and forgiveness. We were totally cool.

I picked Riley up at 8:09 just because I thought she needed a little bit of extra time to get ready but I also wanted to be fashionably late. But it turns out I didn't plan very well because she was waiting on her front porch all ready. She was wearing a jumper, I think it's called. It was a one piece that had thin straps attaching to long pants that were very flared out. I thought she looked great. Her makeup was a little heavy but I guess I just wasn't used to her going out places with me with hair and makeup done. I grabbed her hand and took her to my car and opened the door like a gentleman.
"Did I overdress or underdress?" She asked looking down at herself.

Riley's POV
I was afraid I was overdressed but then I remembered I wouldn't be wearing this to a fancy restaurant so I had to be underdressed but than I had no idea what to expect.
"It's fine. You dressed perfectly." James said putting his hand on my knee, reassuring me but still keeping his eyes on the road. In 10 minutes we were there with minimum conversation in the car which I had regretted because I wanted to know more about James. We waked into a large house that was blaring loud music and there were red party cups everywhere along with people dancing and talking loudly scattered all over. I took my phone out of my clutch to check the time and it was 8:23. People kept loading in the door and I hardly recognized any of them except a few that I've seen probably twice in public like at the mall or somewhere. I stuck by James the whole time and I realized I was dressed perfectly because everyone was in booty shorts or short dresses.
"Hey hot stuff!" A guy said passing me a red cup with unknown liquid inside. James had heard him and shook his head.
"Parker, dude, this is my girlfriend Riley." He said using a deeper and more gangster voice that he used around his friends.
"Sorry man, she's cool though!" He said. I wasn't really a drinker but I felt like I had to join everyone with the drinking. James was even drinking. I tugged on his arm for him to listen to me.
"What is this?" I asked pointing to my cup.
"Uh, I think it's just beer," he said and went back to laughing with his friends. I felt so out of place until I saw some friends from high school. I kept the drink in my hand with my clutch though.
"So Riley, your boyfriends good looking, good going!" Lily said nudging me and sipping out of her drink. I sipped out of mine and was relieved it was just beer.
"Thanks, yeah he's cool." I said smiling and looking back at him. He was talking to some girls and other guys now. I ignored him and turned back to the girls though. They started dancing and twerking on people so I kind of stayed back and laughed along. I danced with Lily mostly and James came over to me. He was a little tipsy I could tell.
"Love you," he said randomly giving me a hug.
"Is it time to go?" I said pulling his cup away from him realizing he was drunk.
"Where's Sydney?" He asked pushing past me. Who the hell was Sydney? I followed him and he wouldn't of ever noticed. He got to a girl that was sitting on the couch and I recognized her. I think she was in one of my classes one year. She saw me behind James and gave me a small smile that nobody else would've noticed.
"James!" She said excitedly. She kind of hugged him but it wasn't really a hug. He sat beside her and I sat beside him and he finally realized I was there.
"When do you wanna go?" I asked.
"This is Sydney," he slurred and I laughed. Sydney grinned.
"Hi," I said to her and she smiled showing her perfect teeth.
"When do you want to go James?" I said getting him to look me in the eyes because he was getting distracted so easily.
"Oh, you're with James?" She asked still keeping on her smile. She was wearing short ripped shorts with a lace tshirt and a beige cardigan. She was so pretty.
"Yeah!" I said putting a hand on James's knee.
"That's cool." She said and took a sip of her drink. I realized I had my drink and James's drink in my hands so I just threw them both out in the garbage that was beside me.
"How do you know James?" I asked pulling out my phone.
"We um...knew each other from school and uh...yeah. We just kind of started talking and we've been talking for a while now," she said and took a sip.
"Alright, cool." I said looking over at James. I had no trust in Sydney what so ever. I think she liked James or they had history before.
"Let's go James." I said and pulled him up off the couch.
"Bye!" He yelled out to everyone as I pulled him to the door. Parker was at the door and saw us heading out. I put my hand in James's just so he remembered we were together.
"Thanks Parker, bye." I said and he waved. I dug the keys out of James's pocket and put him in the passenger seat.
"You're drunk." I said to him starting to go to his house to drop him off.
"Yeah, but I think you love me." He said laughing at himself. Once we got to his house and he was done saying the most random things I put him in his bed and pulled the covers over him. I left his car in the driveway and just walked over to my house which took about 15 minutes in the dark. I got my pjs on and took my makeup off and went straight to bed because I was so tired and it was 11:45 which wasn't that late but I felt like I was going to pass out.

I woke up at 10:00 and realized it was Sunday. My phone buzzed on my night table and there was a bunch of texts from James.

J: where r u
J: hope ur home
J: call me when u wake up
J: sorry idk what happened

I answered with;

R: yeah I dropped u off and left ur car there
R: u were drunk tho
R: oh who's sydney
R: u probs remember nothing lol

He quickly responded surprisingly.

J: I remember seeing u and u looked beautiful
J: there's group rehearsals today
J: we'll talk later
J: do u want me to come pick u up

R: I'm okay thanks James
R: I'll ttyl c u soon and u made my day

I totally forgot about rehearsals, I didn't even remember anything about those. If James hadn't told me I wouldn't even be there because Emily was In a fight with me right now and she's at Stephanie's and wouldn't of told me. I can't wait for today though. I was planning something huge.
