Part 4: Skatepark🛹

It was a Friday morning when Jax had stopped me in my tracks.
"Hey what's going on with you?"
"Why do you care?" I looked up at him with my "death look".
"Well 1st of all I'm not seeing you with Sage anymore and you are ignoring me and the boys." He started walking backwards in front of me.
"Sage and I aren't friends anymore, and I want to ignore "you and the boys" because you guys are annoying! Now please get out of my way!"
He ignored me, "so what do you think of the new guy? What kinda name is Levi? I mean what's this preppy kid doing here anyways?" He kept looking at me straight in the eyes and it was making me uncomfortable.
"I think he's pretty nice and cute! I'm surprised him and Sonny haven't gotten together yet. I mean it didn't take long for her to get you." I walked around him, not making any eye contact.
"HEY! She had to fight for me!" He was trying to catch up with me.
"Ha! That's funny! She only had to touch you once for you to fall head over hills!" I kept on walking.
He changed the subject "are you going to the skatepark tonight?"
"We'll see, if I feel like it maybe." I opened my locker almost slamming the door into his face. *i'm gonna get real "Wattpaddy"now.*
When I was about to leave he grabbed my arm, pulling me to him close, "Come! I think you'll like it. Plus Sage will be there...probably!" Then he laughed while running off into the distance. I stood still for a second. "That was weird" I thought to myself, "maybe I will go" I smiled while looking down at the ground and walked off to class.
I thought about the skate park the whole day, I wondered what it would be like just hangin' out with cool people, and just having fun. Then I looked up at Levi, he was looking back at me too. He brushed his fingers trough his silky hair and  did his little side-smile thing that always gives me butterflies 🦋. So he does notice me! I smiled back at him as he turned around to answer a question. "Is he going to the skate park tonight? I should ask him. Maybe things are going back up hill for me now! :)"
The class bell rang as the hallway became flooded with kids. "Where are you Levi? Ugh! Yes! I spotted him!" He was headed out the door to the track field. "Hey Levi!" I ran up to him with probably the biggest smile on my face that he's ever seen. "I was wondering if you were going to the skatepark tonight?!"
"Um I dunno, what is it?" He stared at me blank for a second.
"It's when all the kids from this high school get together once a year and hang out at the skatepark!"
"Yeah I'll come! Sounds fun!"
"Ok! See ya there!" I skipped away being the happiest I've been for awhile.  I didn't care if people were staring, go ahead, stare, I was happy and everybody hated it! I always wondered why people hated to see me happy and full of life! They could be happy, but I couldn't? It was like a anchor pulling me down into depression all the TIME! I wish I could just brake the chain and fly freely without any guilt or sorrow about just being HAPPY!
Suddenly Sonny bumped into me, making all my books fall out of my hands.
"Oops! Sorry! Oh and that's right! I almost forgot, I need to tell you something, I heard your going to the skatepark tonight!" She tilted her head while watching me hastily pick up my books.
"Yea!?"
"Well I heard that you invited Levi and just note that you probably shouldn't have done that!"
"Umm, why?"
"Because...well I'm not saying you will but...you don't want to get embarrassed in front of him do you?" She fidget with her nails as I saw her walk towards Levi.
I sat there in the middle of the hallway with my books for a second; "Don't let her get you down! You need to go and just be yourself, she's just not wanting me to show up!" I knew that she was just trying to make me too afraid to go, but that wasn't gonna happen...nope! Not tonight.

"I have to dress cute...no COOL! Um maybe sexy? Ew! No!" I looked at my sweatshirt across the room, "NO! I have to be confident, be myself!"  I took out my pair of high-waisted baggy jeans, a sick belt, a crop top, and a cool jacket etc.
  I hopped on my bike as fast as I could and got to the skatepark right on time (7:30)!
"Oh look who it is! Surprised you came!" Jax fixed his beanie while walking over towards me.
"Hey Ive!" Levi interrupted, giving me a fist bump.
Jax rolled his eyes, "Levi, that's a REALLY dope name! What did your dad name you after? His favorite jeans?"
"Um well actually the name Levi is passed on through my family's genes! But Levi is actually short for Leviticus!" Levi thought Jax was complimenting him.
  "Oh cool! Leviticus seems like such a unique name!"  I kinda stood there nervously.
  "Is there any meaning behind Jax?" Levi looked at Jax with a smirk on his face.
"Umm, nope! My mom just liked the name Jax soo..."
"Oookkaay! I'm gonna go get a drink!" I could feel the tension, almost taste it! Why were they like this? They haven't even fully met yet.
The skatepark was packed full of kids! Some of them weren't even from my school. The smell of cigarettes and perfume filled the air as I got closer to the drink stand. I noticed that Sage, Sonny, and the other girls were staring at me across the park. "Ugh why do they have to be like this!"
"Look who came! Didn't know you had the guts." Sonny crossed her arms, looking me up and down.
"Have the guts? This place seems fun why wouldn't I come?" I finished making my drink and tried to be nice.
"I would probably leave if I were you!" One of Sonny's friends gave a sharp remark.
"Sorry, that's not going to happen!" I held my head up high and walked past them with confidence.
You could just see the faces they were making without even looking at them. Besides running into them I had fun at the skatepark, watching everyone do their cool tricks and talking to Levi until Sonny stole him again. But that fun didn't last for long.
"Hey what's your name? Ivory? Why don't you come skate!" One of Jax's friends yelled.
"Um...me? Haha no! I can't skate but thanks!" My voice was SO AKWARD!
"Yuh sure? Come on! Get up here?" One of the other friends shouted.
Suddenly the whole skatepark was looking at me saying, "come on! Do it, do it!"
I felt like I had to go up there, "crap!" I jumped on top of the ramp and Jax's friend handed me the skateboard.
My legs were shaking and I felt like I was going to vomit. I felt myself getting lightheaded looking at everyone watching me and suddenly, *splash*! Sonny had dumped the whole entire bowl of punch on my head, everyone was silent for a moment and then started to laugh.
"WHAT THE—
"Oopsie!" Sonny giggled and then pushed me off the ramp, making me land into some red mud they had been laid in the center of the ramp.
"You might have to go home now to clean up!" Sonny grinned.
I slowly got up, trying to wipe the mud off my outfit. I could barely see from the tears filling up my eyes as I walked into the laughing crowd.
"Hey! Wait up! Ivory!" Jax tried to catch up with me.
"Is this why you wanted me to come?" I kept walking while looking down at the ground.
"What—no!-
"THEN WHY ELSE WOULD YOU WANT ME TO COME!? HUH? YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN MEAN TO ME MY WHILE ENTIRE LIFE AND THEN NOW YOU DECIDE TO ACT NICE TO ME JUST SO YOU CAN EMBARRASS ME!" I tried to hold back my tears, "I should've known you'd been up to something." I rode my bike as fast as I could home, leaving him behind. 
As I rode back home I couldn't help it anymore, tears ran out of my eyes and down my cheeks, "luckily i don't have school tomorrow."
