Jan. 15
It was a new year, and that means new year new me! And that means I don't care what anybody's gonna think of me this year because I'm gonna get Levi, and help Jax get Sage while doing it. I had a feeling Jax liked Sage all this time anyways, when we were in middle school he would look at her all the time while we passed through the halls, but she never realized it. Probably because she was used to it.
Me and Jax made a plan, we had to spend more time together if we liked it or not, even if we can't stop being mean to each other! We had to make it believable also, like we wanted to spend time together. Another thing we had to do was spend most of that time with Levi and Sage.
Levi started walking Sage and I to school every day, ya know because we were friends and all I guess, so that means I Jax would have to tag along too.
For the most part Sage ignored me and was too busy hogging Levi. When Levi would start a convo with me Sage would always have to butt in so Jax and I would just talk I guess.
"Didn't know you would join us Jax," Levi gave him a surprised expression.
"Yeah i thought I would join you guys since ol' Ive and I started hanging out more ya know!" He put his arm around me.
"I thought you always was mean to Ivory, what changed?" Sage looked him up and down.
"Well the other day he invited me to skate so I joined him, it was really fun, wish you guys could've been there." I winked at Jax and he winked back.
"Oh cool, sounds fun!" Levi looked bothered and quickly changed the subject, "um do you guys wanna sit with us at lunch?"
"Yeah sure but I ain't sharing." Jax took out his lunch money.
It felt kinda fun playing this role, but I still wasn't confident it was gonna work. When it was lunchtime I mare sure I sat beside Levi and Jax beside Sage. Both Levi and Sage looked kinda uncomfortable. Jax and I kept talking to try to not make it so awkward when Levi interrupted us,
"So I haven't really gotten to know you Jax except for the fact of you being a old brat and the old ladies man around here, looks like you humbled yourself."
We were all silent for a second, what just came out of Levi's mouth? Jax shook his head and started snickering, "Better watch what you say Hot stuff, didn't know Mr, preppy boy had a mouth on em'."
Me and Sage looked at each other shocked, "okay you guys, don't get carried away."
"Believe me I'm not, that would be a waste of my time." Jax got up from the table, staring him down.
"What the heck was that Levi?" I turned around. What the heck was Levi thinking?
"I don't trust him, I have a feeling that he's up to no good. Why would he suddenly start hangin around us?" Levi kept looking at Jax in the distance.
"Yeah same here, I don't know about Jax." Sage stepped beside Levi. Great I knew this wouldn't work. It did seem all the sudden and all but I feel like it was still pretty believable.
When I got home Jax called; "I can't believe that stupid poser, who does he think he is?"
"Well they said they didn't believe you and that you were up to something, which is true, I've never known you when your not."
"We'll just note that I'm ruining my reputation for you!" I could hear Jax's voice through the phone and honestly it was so strange , I never thought in a million years I would be talking to Jax on the phone.
"Don't you mean for Sage too?"
"Yeah and her whatever. Ok well I gotta go, bye."
When he hung up I sat there holding the phone for a while thinking. For the past couple of days it hasn't seemed that strange hangin' with Jax but when I really think and look at it, this was all I ever wanted for years, just to be Jax's partner in crime! But it's too late now.
The next morning I woke up to the phone ringing in my ear, it was Levi, "Hey um ivory? Are you free today?"
"Yeah Levi, why?"
"I'm outside right now because I wanted to take you to the park! I wanted to also make up for yesterday and the way I acted, it was foolish of me!"
"Oh okay...um be out there in a second..." it was nice that Levi was doing this, I had mixed emotions about this though.
"Levi! Hi, this was a surprise!" I ran up and hugged him.
"So where do you wanna go?" Levi fixed his scarf.
"Um we could go to the park like you mentioned!" I was getting more and more excited by the second. His face from my angle seemed so perfect and chiseled, his silky blonde hair blew in the wind as he walked right beside me. It seems like only yesterday he was the new cute dude that didn't even know I existed, but now he was more, cute dude who knows me and wants to get to know me, now he was Levi.
We walked around the park, talking about random things, and then had lunch at a cute little cafe' . It was so amazing until Levi asked a question; "So you and Jax, you guys are getting closer now?"
"Yeah, but we're just friends." I sat down on the bench beside him.
"Ok, just don't let him get to you okay? I don't know him very well but from what I've heard he don't seem like the greatest person ever. I'm just looking out for you Ivory." Levi put his arm around my shoulders. I could feel the butterflies kick in. He was leaning in more and it felt like we were gonna kiss, he was so warm and I could feel myself starting to lean in too. It was about to happen, as soon as we got close enough and both of our eyes closed.
"Hey you guys!" Sonny stepped in. "I didn't expect to see you guys here today! What is this? A little date?"
"Ha! Kinda, didn't expect to see you here either!" Levi tried to put a smile on his face.
"Sorry I'm gonna go Levi, bye! I had a great time!" It started snowing as I rushed back home. I jumped on my bed and squealed into my pillow. Times like this I really wished I had Sage around.
