Part 8: Snowday

I couldn't help but overthink. It just seemed like it was so obvious! It completely ruined my whole Christmas break, wondering what Sage was going to say to me made it even worse.
*BANG* a snowball hit my window, "HEY IVE! STOP BEING IN HIBERNATION AND COME OUTSIDE!" Jax was standing in my front yard waving his hands in the air.
"UUGGH! FINE!!" I ran downstairs while putting my gloves and coat on. Jax was waiting for me at the door,
"Haha! Aren't you lookin sexy!"
"Shut up!" I gave him a little push, "you're not much to talk, where's your skateboard?"
"Why would I be riding my skateboard in the snow?" He looked at me like I was stupid.
"I dunno I'm just so used to you having it around all the time, it's just kinda different to see you without it." He's had that skateboard with him since we first met, which was years ago.
"Ha! What do you wanna do now? Do you wanna go skating on the lake?"
"What! I dunno I'm not that good at skating..."
"Me neither! But we can try, come on you scared?" He threw some snow at me.
"Fine! Let's go! But if I skate you have to buy me hot chocolate ANND..." I looked at him with an evil grin,
"Whaaattt..."
"AANND! I heard you made some music so I would like to see where you make it, I always love seeing instruments!"
"Pssh well that's not hard at all...easy! And yes I brought the skates!" He threw the skates at me.
"Oh I was meaning to ask are "the boys" here with you? Hiding in the bushes waiting to throw snowballs at me?" I asked while slipping my skates on.
"Nope! I didn't tell "the boys" i was going out today!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the ice.
"Crap no! Aaahhk! I'm not ok I'm not ok!"
"Shut up, if you keep talking and worrying it's just gonna make it worse!" He held both of my hands as I slid across the ice.
"Wait—I'm not to bad!" I looked at him surprised.
"Nah you kinda are but it doesn't matter!"
"THANKS A LOT!"
"I was just kidding!" He let go of me for a second. I was doing alright until I lost my balance again, I had almost hit the ground when all the sudden Jax grabbed my arms and pulled me up, making me fall on his chest, "You think I was gonna let you fall?"
I paused for a second then quickly leapt up, "now you owe me some hot chocolate!"
After we bought the hot chocolate, we walked through the sparkling town, I actually figured out I had more in common with him than I thought. He liked music and art, but the thing about him was that he was good at sports too.
He brought me back to his house and down to his basement, "Sorry it's a messy down here, I haven't cleaned in forever!"
I ran over to an orange electric guitar, "Oh my gosh! I love it! And believe me I don't care how messy it is, my room doesn't look much better!"
"I don't just show my studio to anybody so now you gotta re-pay me! Now tell me...I noticed Sage and Levi are getting closer, do you know if there's anything stupid going on between them?" Jax sat down on a worn-out stool.
"Um yeah I do notice they're getting closer, but I don't know if they're is anything going on between them, I don't really think about it," that was a lie I think about it all the time, "why?"
"YOU PROMISE NOT TO TELL A SOUL!" He pointed his finger in my face.
"Um yeah I promise..."
"The thing is is that," he paused, "I like- or you could say liked whatever," he looked at me for a couple of seconds, "Sage." He looked like he was gonna say something else but didn't.
I knew it, "Um—wow! That's news, I don't know how to respond to that ha! So I guess if we are confessing our crushes then I should say, it's pretty obvious but"—
Jax interrupted me, "You like Levi."
"Yeah, sooo, can I ask you a favor, ya know since your a boy?"
"Go ahead, shoot it!" He rolled his eyes.
"I know this is going to sound desperate and everything but is their anything I can do to get Levi to like me more?"
He paused and then suddenly started laughing at me, "um sorry but it's not that simple, plus I'm not a Cupid so I don't deal with this kinda crap!"
"Please! And maybe I can help you get Sage?!" I looked up at him with pleading eyes.
"I'll try my best I guess, ha! We could try to make em' jealous!"
I dunno if this was the right thing to do, but honestly I didn't care if Sage liked it or not, she certainly doesn't care about my feelings.
I thought about it that night, the whole day with Jax, i had so much fun surprisingly, today he wasn't as mean as he usually is, I think he's worse when he's trying to impress his friends. I honestly couldn't believe that he would help me, I wonder what we're going to do or how this is going to work. I feel bad and this seems selfish but I feel like I almost love Levi. He makes me feel safe and secure and sometimes I feel like I wanna spend the rest of my life with him.
