TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATER.

Nick's POV

I park my car and take a few deep breaths before stepping out. I walk inside the building and just greet a few security guards and front desk. I've only been in this firm for only three months now and I'm still working my way to remember faces and names.
I get in the elevator with a bunch of other lawyers. Everyone just stays on their phone. When we keep stopping at a few floors until it finally stops on my floor.
"Good Morning Mr. Hunter" Brendon my assistance says. Him calling me Mr. Hunter is still weird to me.
Once our divorce was final, we changed our names back. Why does no one tell you marrying is easier than getting a divorce.
"Morning" I say. He stands up and fix his tux. He hands me a coffee cup. "Is this—"
"Triple shot expresso with almond milk latte" He cut me off. I smile. Damn he's good.
"You rock"
I start walking in my office and he follows behind me with pen and papers in his hand. He does this every day since I've been here. I mean I guess it shows initiative. He's good at his job.
"What's on for today?" I ask. I put my bag on the desk and take a seat in my chair.
"You have a conference at 9, meeting a client at 12:00 and one at 3:45" He says. I usually meet more clients, but I have so many paperwork I need to file.
"Thank you" I say. He smiles and just stood there. I raise an eyebrow at him.
"Is there anything else?" I ask.
"Happy birthday, and if you need anything else don't hesitate" He says before walking out.
I totally forgot it was my birthday. It's only 8:05 and I'm already slow. Love that for me.
Time slowly approaches. It's 9. Brendon walks in the room.
"Your daughter is on line one sir" He says. I thank him.
"Hello" I say answering the machine.
