Hailey's POV.

Next day.

I was decorating my room really early this morning and I heard the doorbell ring.

"I got it." I yelled.

My mom had already gotten to the door and I saw Jace and his family. By the looks of it, he had two older siblings one was a girl and the other, a boy.

"We're the Normans." the mom says.

"Would you like to come in?" My mom asks.

"Sure." Mrs. Norman says.

They all walk in and some of them sit on the couch.

"Mom I'm gonna go finish decorating my room." I say.

"Honey. You haven't introduced yourself yet." she says.

"Hello. I'm Hailey." I say while shaking everyone's hand.

I walk upstairs to my bedroom and start hanging pictures and posters up.
Then I hear a knock on the door and I instantly turn around.

"It's just me." Jace says with a smile.

"Oh. I thought you were a ghost." I say with sarcasm.

I get back to what I was doing and there's this nail on the wall that's to high for me to hang a picture on.

"Here. let me help." Jace says.

He grabs the picture and places it right on the nail.

"Wow your tall." I say.

He laughs. "Yeah I know 5'2 is pretty tall."

I sit down on my bed and motion for him to sit next to me.

"So tell me some stuff about you." I say.

"Well when I was growing up I worked on a farm in New Mexico before I moved here about 6 years ago." he says.

"Wow. Pretty interesting." I say.

"So what about you?" He asks.

"I had a best friend that died from a severe sickness right before I moved. I never really thought that I would make any friends and I know I won't." I say.

"Hey. don't be so hard on yourself you'll make friends, but it'll be hard to find one that's more cooler than me." he says with a smirk.

I start laughing and then look at him seriously. "Wait. W-we're friends?" I ask.

"Yeah I mean if you want to be." he says.

"I'd actually like that very much." I say smiling.

I start humming to myself and look at Jace while he's looking at the ground.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" He asks.

"Um. Sadly I've never met a boy that was nice. None of them really liked me and they always made fun of me, so no I've never had a boyfriend." I say.

"I'm kinda the opposite all the girls dig me, but I don't have a girlfriend." he says.

"Wow." I say.

"Hey do you have a phone?" he asks

"Yeah." I say.

"Can I see it?" He asks.

I hand him my phone only to realize he's giving me his number. I grab his phone, put in my number, and put my name as "Cutie".

"Nice name." he says.

I look at him and he seems way too familiar. His hair, eyes, face, everything reminds me of something, someone. Oh he reminds me of my "once" friend Belle.

We chatted for about another hour before we got interrupted by my annoying 8 year old sister.

"Ooh. Haileys got a boyfriend." she teased.

I started blushing and looked at Jace.
"We're just friends Anna." I said.

I really didn't want to friend zone him, but I did.

"Jace. It's time to go." his mom called.

"Okay be down in a second." he said.

"I have to go." he says.

"I'll see you around." I say.

He starts walking out, "Jace, wait." I yell.

"Hm." he says.

I kiss him on the cheek and say, "thanks for being a great friend."

He smiles and says, "No problem."

He walks out of my room and I'm in shock for what I did. Why did I kiss him on the cheek? It probably weirded him out.

I lay in bed and look at my phone and it's 4:30 pm. What am I gonna do? I won't be seeing him until whenever he comes back over.

"Sweetie come eat something." my mom yells.

"Coming." I say.

I take one last look at my phone to see if Jace texted me. Nothing just my stupid wallpaper.

I start walking downstairs and grab a sandwich my mom made. It was gone really fast.

"Hey mom I'm gonna ride my bike." I say while while walking out the door.

I hop on my bike and ride it around the neighborhood. I'm not surprised to see Jace riding his penny board. He is like a pro rider.

"So what brings you out here?" Jace asks.

"Nothing. Just wanted to ride my bike." I say.

"Have you ever ridden a penny board?" He asks.

"No, just this bike and a scooter." I say.

"Well. I could teach you how to ride one." he says.

"Okay." I say.

He hops off his penny board and I jump off my bike. I walk over to his board, stand on it, and I tried pushing forward with the other foot.

"Here let me help." Jace says.

He places his hands on my hips and I look down at him. He looks back up at me and stares into my eyes.

"So you just have to push with your foot and make sure to keep your balance." he says.

"Um okay. Like this?" I ask.

"Something like that. Just move your foot over a little and make sure you have balance cause I'm letting go." he says.

"I think I got this." I say.

He let's go of my waist and I start pushing with my other foot. I'm actually doing it. I'm penny boarding.

He starts clapping and I stop the board with my foot.

"I can't believe I was actually doing it." I scream with joy.

I run over to Jace and hug him really tight.

"Thank you." I say.

"No problem." he says.

I smile to myself and get back on my bike.

"It was really nice seeing you." I say.

"Yeah. We should do this more often." he says.

I ride my bike back to my house and it's like 7 o'clock. When I open the front door my dad smiles and I walk up the stairs to my room.

I never really paid attention to what Jace put down for his name in my contacts, but he put "That Blonde Kid".
I laughed at it and blushed. Today was an exhausting day for me, so I went to bed early.
