RHODE ISLAND

Mrs Stevens (Ayla's mum) POV:

-Riiiing-   -Riiing-

I turn the vacuum-cleaner off as I make my way to the living room where the home phone is. If it's one of those people selling useless things again I'll lose my mind.

"Hello, Emily Stevens speaking. Who is it?"

I spoke that phrase as I had so many other times in a pleasant warm tone of voice.
"Good morning Mrs Stevens. I am Beka from the Minnesota hospital. I am calling to inform you that your daughter Ayla Stevens is being driven here as we speak"

Said this Beka-lady on the other side of the line.

"M-my daughter? A-ayla? Are you sure miss?"

I ask wishing that the receptionist would say that they had phoned the wrong person. My daughter is too responsible. She would never get injured to the point where an ambulance is needed.

"I am very sorry Mrs Steven, but I am 100% sure we have the right patient. Your daughter was in a grave accident. It is quite lucky that she is still alive"

At this I slumped down on the couch in shock while tears rolled down my cheeks. My daughter. My sweet little Ayla was In a car accident

"Thank you for informing me"

I managed to croak before hanging up. I looked up as my husband walked in.

"Honey, who was it?" He asks before continuing in a more urgent tone, "Is everything OK? What's wrong?"

"We must go to the airport," I mumble, " Ayla was in a car accident"

I whisper, my lip trembling.

OUTSKIRTS OF RIVENDELL

3rd person POV:

A body appeared out of thing air, flying through the air as if it had been bucked off a horse. It landed on a pile of leaves and rolled roughly along the ground until it stopped a couple of meters away from the city's gate. A soldier who was finishing his rounds found it. On closer inspection he came to realize that it was a human girl. She was covered in nothing but a thin navy blue tunic

Her  skin was a light tan with a couple of freckles dotting her face. Her hair was the color of auburn leaves in the autumn. Her features were soft and angelic. If it weren't for her human ears, the guard would've mistaken her for an elleth. He scooped her up in his arms and jogged towards the healers wing where they'd treat her.
