y/n's pov

being dragged into malfoy manor was the last thing i ever expected. my heart pounded in my chest as i glanced at harry, whose face was a mix of fear and determination, though something about him seemed unfamiliar in the moment. i shifted my gaze towards the iron gates, where bellatrix lestrange stood, her wild eyes gleaming with malice as she took us all in, her stare lingering on harry for a moment too long. harry, without hesitation, lifted the fringe of his hair, revealing the infamous scar.

"get draco," someone barked, and we were all shoved forward, forced inside the cold, looming manor that felt more like a tomb than a home.

the moment we were thrown into the dimly lit hall, bellatrix grabbed harry by the hair and threw him to the ground with a sickening thud. she held him there, her twisted smile growing wider. i was restrained with ron and hermione, who linked her arms with ours, trying to keep us together, ensuring none of us were separated.

i felt my breath catch as i spotted draco walking in with his father, lucius. his gaze found mine immediately, and for a split second, i could see a flicker of something—regret, guilt, maybe even fear. draco and i had been together since our second year, until this year, when he suddenly ended things, claiming he had feelings for pansy. but now, seeing him here, i knew there was more to the story.

draco hesitated as he approached bellatrix, who stood towering over harry. she smirked, taunting him. "well?" she sneered, clearly enjoying his discomfort.

"i... i can't be sure," draco muttered, his voice low. but his father was having none of it. lucius grabbed draco by the neck, forcing him closer to harry.

"look closely, son," lucius growled, before releasing him.

draco leaned in, inspecting harry's face as if he didn't already know who it was. my heart raced, wondering what would happen next. bellatrix strutted toward us, her eyes glittering with madness.

"give me their wands!" she demanded. "i want to see what their last spells were." she laughed darkly, her voice echoing off the manor's stone walls, then stopped dead in her tracks when her eyes landed on something. "what is that?" she asked sharply, spotting the sword of gryffindor in harry's hands.

without warning, she flew into a rage, attacking harry and the others, who collapsed to the floor, gasping for air. then her focus turned to me. she stalked over, her grin widening as she leaned in.

"you're draco's little girlfriend, aren't you?" she hissed, her voice dripping with malice. terror gripped me, and i could feel my body trembling. she was far too close.

"take the others to the cellar," bellatrix ordered, her voice menacing. "leave this one with me. girl to girl," she whispered, her face inches from mine.

i was thrown to the ground, my sleeve yanked up as bellatrix loomed over me. "that sword was meant to be mine!" she screeched. "where did you get it? it was in my vault!" her voice grew shrill as i sobbed uncontrollably, terror consuming me.

"i didn't do anything!" i cried out, but before i could say more, i felt a sharp, searing pain in my arm. i screamed, writhing beneath her as she carved the word 'mudblood' into my skin. the pain was unbearable, and i screamed louder, tears streaming down my face.

finally, she got off me, leaving me on the cold floor. i barely registered the whisper from narcissa into draco's ear as they began to leave. but draco didn't. he ran toward me, eyes wide with horror.

"are you okay?" he asked frantically, lifting me into his arms and cradling me in his lap. i glanced down at my arm, seeing the hateful word etched into my skin. draco's hands shook as he wiped away his own tears. "love, please, answer me. i'm so sorry she did this to you. please..." his voice broke as he caressed my cheek.

with my uninjured arm, i wiped away his tears. "i'm okay," i whispered, though my voice was shaky.

draco pulled me into a tight embrace. "i'm so sorry i didn't tell you. i pretended to like pansy because... because i'm a death eater. i wanted to protect you," he admitted, his voice full of regret.

i nodded, understanding now. "i understand," i murmured, still feeling the sting of the injury but also the weight of his confession.

as i sat up, he asked again, "are you okay?" and i nodded weakly.

before i could say more, bellatrix stormed back in, shoving draco away from me. narcissa quickly grabbed him, pulling him back as bellatrix pushed me to the ground once more.

"don't move," she snarled, her teeth gritted in anger. i stayed where i was, tears streaming down my face as the chaos around me unfolded. i watched as harry, ron, and hermione fought against lucius and bellatrix, the room erupting into spells and shouts.

then bellatrix grabbed me, holding a knife to my throat. "stop!" she screamed, and everything froze. "drop your wands!" she ordered. harry, ron, and hermione obeyed, their wands clattering to the floor.

just as it seemed all hope was lost, the chandelier above began to shake. it swung precariously until, with a loud crash, it fell. bellatrix released me in the chaos, and i stumbled toward ron, who immediately pulled me into his arms and guided me to hermione.

we regrouped near dobby, who had appeared just in time. my heart raced, but hermione rubbed my back soothingly, offering comfort.

"stupid elf!" bellatrix screamed. "you could've killed me!"

"dobby never meant to kill," the elf replied bravely. "dobby only meant to maim or seriously injure!" as chaos erupted once again, dobby snapped his fingers, and suddenly, we were no longer in malfoy manor.

we landed on a beach. the cool breeze hit my face as i helped ron and hermione to their feet. "are we safe?" harry asked, his voice strained.

"harry potter..." came a weak voice. we all turned to see dobby, collapsed in harry's arms. tears welled in my eyes as luna and harry spoke quietly to him. i covered my mouth, trying to hold back my sobs.

suddenly, i heard a voice behind me. "y/n..." i turned, my heart nearly stopping. it was draco. "draco?" i breathed, disbelief washing over me as i ran toward him, wrapping my arms around him tightly.

"what are you doing here?" i asked, my voice trembling.

"i had to come with you," he whispered, his eyes filled with sadness.

ron and hermione exchanged a look, offering small, weak smiles of understanding. "come on," i said softly, taking his hand.

later, we stood by dobby's grave, the sand slowly covering his small body. draco, ron, and harry had dug the hole together while hermione and i stood quietly. when draco finished, he came to me, wrapping his arms around me once more. i rested my head on his shoulder, my eyes filled with sorrow as i watched harry place the final mound of sand over dobby's grave.
