Y/N POV
today was the day before the yule ball. my date completely cut it off with me because he wanted to go with pansy. yes, he is draco malfoy.
so i officially have no one to go with.
"so who are you gonna go with?" somi asks as she eats her toast, making me snap out of my thoughts.
"i don't know." i sigh, shrugging.
"miss y/l/n and lee?" we hear our last names get called. we both turn around, seeing professor mcgonagall standing behind us.
"yes, professor." i respond.
"come, you both. and you two boys." she says, pointing at lucas and nathan.
we all get up as stares are glued to us. we follow professor mcgonagall.
"professor dumbledore wants you four." she tells us. we nod as she takes us to his office.

we're standing in front of professor dumbledore and mcgonagall awkwardly.
"you four, i have to ask. could you please perform at the yule ball?" he asks. we all look at each other.
"wait, really?" we all ask at the same time.
"of course. y/n, your voice is beautiful. somi, you're really good at guitar, i've heard. lucas, you're great at rapping. and nathan, amazing at drums." dumbledore explains. i'm surprised he knows about muggle instruments.
"uhm, yeah." i smile.
the others agree too.
"perfect. we have a room for you to practice in right now." professor mcgonagall tells us.
we nod as she leads us through the halls and into the room.
"be back by third period." she says. we nod again as she closes the door.
"wow." lucas says, walking to the drum set.
"who knew they knew about muggle instruments?" i laugh, touching the mic on a microphone stand. "so what song?" i ask.
"i got one in mind." nathan smirks, pulling out a music sheet.
"already prepared." lucas chuckles as we all huddle around nathan.
"this song should give some energy." he says.
we all agree and start working on the music.

"you guys got the hang of it." nathan says, out of breath.
"this is gonna be awesome." somi says excitedly.
lucas laughs as we start packing up.
"that song is good. what's it called?" somi asks as i hand her the music sheet.
"determinate, huh." she says, reading it.
"this is gonna be great." she smirks, skipping away. i laugh and run after her.

"so you're performing?" hermione asks as i sit next to her in potions.
"yes." i respond as she smiles.
"i'm so excited." she squeals.
"who are you going with to the yule ball?" i ask.
"viktor krum." she whispers.
i gasp so loud.
"sh sh sh." she says as i cover my mouth, shocked. "what about you?" she asks.
