Your room was suddenly becoming warmer as you struggled to sleep, nightmares evading your space and smirking while watching you get suffocated, your body embracing death. Of course, death came to all humans, but to reach your last breath so soon...

You jolted awake just as the clock ticked 2:18 am. Covered with sweat and tears, you scrambled out of bed and to your washroom. You turned the faucet on and rinsed your face from the fluids continuously pouring out from your eyes and from the pores from your skin. The condition was the same almost every night, you waking up in tears from this one memory you could never forget.

The day you died.

The events on that day were so clear to you. How could they not if they appeared every time you slept?  You trusted Belphegor, the Avatar of Sloth. How could no one trust this angelic looking demon? You had been attracted to him the moment you laid your eyes on him. His features, his demeanor called out to you, and you followed without a word, only to realize the trap you had put yourself into. You learnt he had disliked humans since the tragedy, his hatred towards humans was too much. Although everyone eventually moved on from this incident, you didn't think you could ever move on from this.

Tch. To think that the Avatar of Sloth had robbed you of your peaceful slumber.

And yet you were foolish enough to fall for him. Out of all the demons, angels (though you wouldn't consider the thought of falling for an angel) and humans, you chose to fall for your own murderer. Everyday you saw him standing outside of the classroom, either talking with Beel or taking a nap. He looked mesmerizing even in slumber and you would forget that he had ever laid hands on you. You took a glance at him at every chance you got, whether he was in the kitchen with Beel or just sleeping in the attic. You had tried to hide this behavior at your best, but he just had to catch you that one day, you staring at him. He gave you a weird look before heading towards the other direction and you never came out of your room that day... at least not until Mammon kept bugging you.

But even after all this, you believed you had at least a chance with him, that he would look at you more than just a human and would accept you. Even if it wasn't in a romantic way, you wanted to be close to him. You felt what he was going through and wanted to help him. There was more to him than the psychopathic side of him that you had seen the day he took your life, you know it. You had seen how happy he looks when he spends time with Beel, his warm smile when Belphie cuddles with Beel.

You wanted him to know that hating all humans isn't going to help him and that you understand the previous tragedies that took place with him. You would tell him that you weren't going to do something that he didn't like and would keep appropriate space with him whenever he needed. You loved him from the deepest part of your heart, and you needed him to know that. You were ready to face anything that came your way.

And so you took the brave step of stepping near the attic, making sure he was awake and not going to bed again. You entered the attic, your heart thumping out of your ribcage and you didn't know whether your were scared or shy. Taking a deep breath, you pushed the door open to see Belphegor sprawled out on his collection of pillows. He looked at you with narrow eyes, not uttering a word, as though trying to find the reason of your presence in the attic by seeking into your heart. As if noticing your frightened figure, he approached you ever so slowly.

"Why are you here?" Such a straight forward and a harmless question which made a shiver run down your spine. You couldn't think properly, still recovering from the shock that finally after all this time, he was speaking to you.

"Stop staring, human." He demanded, waking you from your trance. You find him staring directly at you and you grew flustered. His purplish eyes pierced directly into yours and you could swear on your life that he could hear your loud heartbeat.

"I'm sorry. I... wanted to talk to you." You manage to spill out, looking down to hide your embarrassment.

"I am the least interested in hearing you express yourself. You should go to Asmo." He returned to lay down on his pillow collection.

"No, I wanted to talk to you about...us." You muttered the last word, unsure of his reaction. He raised an eyebrow.

"Well then speak up, I don't have all day human." He spoke, his voice had an annoyed tone, warning you that you shouldn't be lurking nearby him for long, as if he might snap.

"Why do you keep ignoring me? I want to be on good terms with you... Yes I know what happened in the past wasn't right, but you can't keep hating us forever--"

"Heh. That's where you're wrong, human." He cuts you off as he gets up, trapping you between himself and the wall, leaving no space to run. He slowly leans to your ears, whispering,

"I would never get tired of the way you whimpered as you reached your last breath. How weak you looked... I still cherish that look. Oh, how I would do anything to see the terrified look on your face after I killed you..."

He pulled away and you were already trembling. He chuckled at his victory, and decided to add more to the flame. His smirk grew wider by each word he spoke.

"I've always despised you humans from the bottom of my heart. You powerless creatures are too easy to terrify. Oh my, I haven't even done anything and you're already trembling. Tch, I feel like could just kill you with my words alone. I don't see the point why you were created, we powerful creatures should have already killed your kind before any of this had ever happened...

... I could never love your kind."

He must've spoken more, but your eyes were too blurry with tears threatening to fall to notice. You were ready to accept criticism, but you never thought he would go this far. You gathered all your strength to push him off of you and run from the attic to your room as fast as your legs could take you. You closed the door behind you and sunk to the floor, crying silently, tears falling after each heavy breath.

Night flew by and dawn was taking over. Sleep didn't come to you, you were too demotivated to go to RAD, too crushed to even stand up. There was no point anyways, any efforts you had taken to make things right between the two of you had vanished. He despised you till the end of time and there was no stopping him. Maybe... you should just leave things be. Let him hate you, it would be better than living in your false reassurances that maybe, just maybe he still holds any kind of feeling for you other than hatred.

Letting go. It will be hard, but you will try your best in avoiding him, if that's what he wanted. As of now, you texted Lucifer an excuse of your absence at RAD that day. You just couldn't face everyone after this incident... not after what happened, at least not today. And you didn't blame him, after all...

Who would ever want to see this worthless excuse of a human being?
