"Mom I'm leaving", Hueningkai informed his mother as he was about to leave for school.
"And where exactly?", his mom raised a brow while approaching to where he was, cleaning her hand with a towel
"Uh..school? Where else will I be going at 6:30 in the morning", Hueningkai was taken aback by his mothers unexpected question
"I see", his mother stared at Hueningkai in suspicion
"Made any friends?", his mom snapped
"Well, um not really. I did only make one though", Hueningkai responded, worried as what question his mom might ask him next
"Is it a boy?", his mom grew suspicious.
"I-uh yeah", Hueningkai spaced out for a bit, scared of his mothers response
"Better not be more than friends, get it?", his mom squinted her eyes, harshness developing in her tone
"O-of course, what made you think I would", Hueningkai slightly laughed, getting awkward
Yes, of course his mom knew that Hueningkai had dated a boy before. He'd rather not expose the name because that's just how many bad memories he can reiterate in his head when he hears or even speaks of the name.
"Ever since you exposed your sexuality", his mom rolled his eyes
"You know this is not legal right? Boys Liking boys? I cant handle my inheritor to marry a man, it will really create problems in our family and our reputation will be ruined. Thank god you broke up with him, I hope you arent still in love with him ", his mom finished in an annoyed tone
Hueningkai gulped. He didnt like how he was judged by liking someone who has the same gender as him. It really wasnt his fault now that he thought about it. He was just a teenager trying his best to live a good life and experiencing changes but of course the aftermath of high school was turning into a disaster.
"N-no of course not", Hueningkai spoke truthfully but his mothers warning still hurt him. His mom approached him and pecked his forehead
She gave him breakfast, and bid farewell to her son.

"Taehyun, it's unfair. My life is unfair"
"Hueningkai it's okay, trust me, you're acting as if you actually like a boy", Taehyun rolled his eyes
"I dont like anyone, but what if I do? And then my heart will be broken because my mom is so strict with these things? You know I'm not straight", Hueningkai lowered his head, his gaze full of sadness
"Dont worry, I'm pretty sure you wont like anyone. Not for the time being at least. Why dont you try talking to girls? Like look at Yuna. Shes pretty cool, her personality is amazing and she is also very pretty and kind. You both would look amazing together", Taehyun was cut off by Hueningkai
"God! Taehyun, I just cant ok? They arent my type. Ever since I dated that dumbass boy, I just knew I wasnt straight. It cant change Taehyun", Hueningkai sighed
"Hmph, dont worry about it for now.", Taehyun comforted the younger
"Tell me, what's up with your dad?", Taehyun tried changing the topic
"Well, we still have to pay off our debts and our loan isnt ending anytime soon", Hueningkai sighed
"Isnt your dad home these days?", Taehyun questioned
"Well, hes looking for a job but it's been over a week now. My aunts almost annoyed that we have to keep asking her for money at times we barely have enough to eat", Hueningkai let out a sad chuckle
Taehyun looked concerned as ever. He wanted to help, he really wanted to but his parents werent in Korea. They lived far towards the coast and Taehyun lived in an apartment, doing part time jobs to earn himself a sufficient livelihood
"Hi guys, can I sit here?", it was soobin, showing off his pretty dimples as he approached to the two silent boys who were minding their business in the cafeteria, him holding a food trat. He only looked at Hueningkai since he was only familiar with that boy and the other was still a new face for him and vice versa.
"Uh..hi, do we know you?", Taehyun let out an awkward chuckle, just feeling as if his face was familiar before
"Oh, i-im sorry, where are my manners. I'm Soobin, Choi Soobin. I'm friends with Hueningkai", He smiled as he let out a hand to Taehyun which Taehyun replied with gently
"Oh, im Taehyun, please sit down", Taehyun smiled
Hueningkai let out a smile once he saw his friend. He greeted him and hoped the other would sit next to him so that he could have great company.
"Hueningkai, how are you today?", Soobin smiled as he faced the latter and sat next to him
"I-im doing good, tell me about you", Hueningkai replied, taking a bite of his sandwich
"Yeah, I'm doing fine. By the way, I tore a page of your sketchbook yesterday before you took the sketchbook and I kept it to myself. That's just how good it was", Soobin chuckled as he saw an embarrassed Hueningkai who covered his face
"A-ah, why?", Hueningkai whined
Taehyun observed the two. They seemed pretty awkward around each other. Meaning, they werent that close and they probably just recently met. Oh yeah! He remembered now, even Soobins face felt familiar. He was the guy who was on the bus on the first day of school.
"Do you know Jeongin?", Soobin questioned the two while he ate his food
"Huh? The guy from our class?", Taehyun raised a brow
"Yeah, him. He approached me today. And he said he wanted to be friends", Soobin spoke while swallowing the last bits of food in his mouth
"Oh--hes a good guy and he scores well too, I guess it's not too bad to befriend him", Taehyun gently let out a smile
Hueningkais expression was currently unreadable. Hes knows Jeongin for a year and a half now and to his knowledge, Jeongin can fuck up thinks easily. Jeongin had been in many relationships and not that he wasnt a good person, he truly was but sometimes his mind said something else and his heart would oppose to the thinking.
"Hueningie, are you okay?", Soobins gentle voice struck Hueningkai
"Oh yes of course", Hueningkai slightly laughed, surprised by the pet name soobin called him by.
"Yeah so I just talked to Jeongin and hes pretty nice. It's good to be able to make new friends here", Soobin smiled eyeing Taehyun as Taehyun understood that Soobin was willing to point out that he would like to be friend with Taehyun.
"Ok we gotta go now, I knew Beomgyu and Yeonjun wouldnt come, so good for Mina who had dance", Taehyun puffed his cheeks
The rest of the two slowly started packing up, Taehyun leading the way, leaving the two behind.
"So, is he your..you know..boyfriend ot something?", Soobin suddenly questioned
"What? No..of course not..we are just friends", Hueningkai nodded his head in disagreement
"Why do you ask though?", Hueningkai wondered
"Nothing, you guys just seemed close so I supposed", Soobin cheekishly smiled, Hueningkai smiling back
They both headed to their classrooms, clearly not ready for the boring classes they will have to go through throughout the day
