3rd POV

It had been 2 weeks since they went on their date, which Kao ended on a teasing note. Both have been busy with work, Pete at the police station and Kao in the ER. They texted or called almost everyday but couldn't make up time for another date. Kao was in his office, thinking back to the date when a call pulled him out of his daze.

"Kao? There's someone here to see you at the front desk."

"Okay I'll be there." He cut the call and got out of his chair. Who could it be?

He reached the front desk and his jaw almost hit the floor. It's Pete!!

"Hey!" He couldn't control his excitement when he greeted him. 

"Hi. It's been some time since we last met and I finally have my hands a little free so I decided to visit you and...maybe go on another date, if you are free?" Pete asked. 

"YES! I was gonna call you later today to ask you out on a date as it's a pretty tranquil day." Kao replied. (I used a fancy word here as I heard that doctors avoid saying "quiet" or "calm" day as it allegedly jinx it)

"Then, it's a date. I have it all planned, so I'll pick you up later this evening."

"Okay, see you later." Pete unexpectedly leaned in and left a peck on Kao's face making him go red to the tip of his ears. He winked mischievously and left Kao as a blushing mess, with the front desk lady giving them heart eyes.

Evening

Thankfully, Kao did not have much to do as he couldn't focus at all after his little exchange with Pete. He couldn't help but think what Pete had planned for him, it made him super excited and he was just counting the minutes to when his shift ends and he could leave.

After 5 excruciating hours, the clock finally struck 7 and Kao packed up to meet Pete. Making his way to the hospital entrance, he saw Pete waiting with his back to the car.

"Kao!" He shouted, gaining some people's attention. Kao quickly reached him and got engulfed in a big hug. It took him by surprise but he hugged him back, snuggling into his neck. After some time, they pulled back, both a blushing red. Pete moved to open the gate of the passenger seat and Kao got in.

"So what's the plan?" Kao asked after both of them were settled in the car.

"Something sweet... you'll see." Pete smirked, turning his head to face Kao for a second. This got him confused. Sweet.

"Sweet? Are we going to try some dessert place?" Pete didn't say anything, just smiled at him and continued to drive.

After a while, he stopped in front of what looked like a double story studio place of sorts and asked Kao to get out. Pete held his hand and directed him to the door and opened it with a key and locked the doors behind him pulling the blinds down. At the centre of the spacious area, was a modular kitchen, probably equipped with everything to cook and bake and tables and chairs around. It's an empty cafe with no one else there. This got Kao even more confused. What will we do here?
