Monday Morning. 7am.
Olivia had been up for a few minutes now. She waited till her alarm went off and quickly stopped it. She sat back down on her chair at her dressing table looking at herself in the mirror. Her soft hair in a low, loose ponytail, her fringe and some hair falling out from the side of her hair. She was tired, but didnt exactly feel it. She was too nervous, she was starting a new school in a totally different country! She sat with one of her knees up on the chair cuddling into it. Her school started at 8:50am, for registration class before real classes.
Her school was only a few minutes away and her mom was able to drive her on her way to work. So that was cool! She got up, got washed and put on her clothes. Sadly here they had a uniform to wear and follow. For girls it was either a dress or reasonable skirt with shirt, tie and blazer. Olivia decided to pick the skirt uniform, the dresses werent nice and it hung on her like a nurse outfit. She put on her shirt, tie and tucked her shirt into her skirt, it was black and white with a little dark blue. The same with her tie. Her blazer were a navy blue. Luckily they had no rules about wearing makeup, so she put hers on.
Concealer, powder, winged liner, mascara. Just subtle. She pulled her hair out of her pony tail and her hair fell down her back and across her shoulders. She took a breath before grabbing her brush. Brushing her hair she began to day dream. What if something went wrong? what if people picked on her?! she was the new girl, from a different country. What if she wouldnt or couldnt make friends? what if people thought she was weird? She quickly came back to reality and snapped out of her over thinking mind,
She looked out her window, the sun was out and it was still quite warm. The uniform better not make her sweat. She pinned her hair up at the sides and kept the rest down. She put a small extra hair brush in her bag along side her folder, a notebook, pens...water...snacks... Looking at her clock it was just going onto 7:30. She still had a long time. She decided to go down and grab some breakfast. Walking out her room she passed a few rooms before coming to the stairs. She hopped down them, shoeless, her knee grey socks she had on. She walked down the hall and into the kitchen. Her mom was standing.
"Morning sweetie! you just missed your dad! he's off out trying to see if he can get a position in the same job he had." Olivia nodded pouring cereal. "Oh honey, i know your nervous! its the first day, but i bet it'll be all good!" SHe smiled walking over and comforting her. "Yeah, your probably right." Olivia nodded. "Liv, i know...." SHe smiled and nodded. "Im nervous for starting this job too, but i know it'll be fine after today" She told her. "I know mom" She smiled a little pouring milk into her bowl. She walked over and sat at the long counter in the kitchen scrolling through her phone as she ate.
She was soon finished and cleared her bowl away and went back upstairs brushing her teeth again, sipping mouth wash and spitting it out in her sink. She took a breath, the cool mint slightly stinging her front tooth. She hated that tooth, always sensitive! She walked into her room, sprayed some perfume and slipped on her flat pumps. At least she wouldnt be the only one with a uniform. She looked at her clock and it was just 8. She sat around thinking about things, about back home, about the future here in Sydney, would she see Tasha again? would they stay here? would everything go okay at school? She was a senior and it was her last year. She had started back home in September but here in Australia, she would be into the second term of the year already.
Making her possibly miss some stuff. Hopefully not! Finally it was 8:30 and her mom got ready to go, getting her keys, work, bag. Doing the same Olivia stuck back on her blazer, grabbed her bag and checked herself in the mirror before sighing a little and walking out her room. She put her earphones and phone in her pocket. "Come on honey!" Her mom shouted leaving the house out the front door. Olivia walked down the stairs and followed her out, she got into the car and waited till her mom came over and into the car too. Looking around Olivia saw the small children heading out to school too.
"Lets go!" Her mom gave her a small, reassuring smile before starting the car and driving out of the drive.
