Jimin

My eyes shoot open as the front door opens and I run to see a tired looking Jungkook with holes, slashes, and burns in his clothes. His eyes are hooded and his limbs appear to be too heavy to use. When Jungkook sees me, he smiles genuinely and collapses.

"Kookie, are you okay?" I ask, catching him and helping him onto the couch.

"Fine... I'm fine." He closes his eyes and leans into my touch.

Not believing him, I continue to study his appearance as I move his hair off his forehead. The perspiration works to keep the raven locks out of the way as I check his head for injury. His head seems to be okay, but he's breathing heavily.

"Jimin." A large hand encapsulates mine as Jungkook's face contorts in pain. "Don't worry. It's okay."

As he says this, his black shirt seems to grow even darker. Curious, I touch the area gently. It's too warm and thick to be sweat. I bring my fingers to my eyes and gasp when I see they're red.

"Kookie, you're bleeding!" I sit him up and start to peel off his cloak and shirt. My eyes take in his ragged appearance that's streaked with blood, soot, sweat, and other foreign objects. I look closer before plucking a black feather from a wound as it starts to close up on its own.

Jungkook grips my hand tighter as his eyes sparkle with tears. "Don't worry about me. Just stay here."

A sigh leaves my lips and I rest my head on his shoulder as he overcomes his affliction. I don't like this feeling of helplessness. I wish he would get better.

"Heal up quickly, Kookie," I whisper and kiss his cheek.

He smiles. "Whatever you say, Jimin." His eyes close as my free hand spreads out over his chest. Despite the hell he's going through, his heartbeat is faraway feeling, like it doesn't need to try hard to heal him up. My cheeks warm up as I feel it beat in perfect synchronization with mine.

"I wish I could help you better, Jungkook," I look at him sadly.

"You're helping me more than you know. I already feel better." Brown eyes meet mine and he sits up and rests his forehead on my shoulder. "I'm usually alone for this."

My arms wrap around him. "You never have to be alone when this happens. I'll try my best to help in any way that I can."

Hot breath hits my neck and I shiver. "Thank you, Jimin. I actually brought you something."

We part and I quirk an eyebrow. "Again?"

He blushes and nods, pulling a box out of his pocket and opening it. "To go with the others."

I stare at the ring and grin. "Why do you keep bringing me rings?" I giggle, thanking him sincerely.

Jungkook slides it onto my thumb and smiles cutely. "I'm always watching you, Jimin. I didn't miss you checking out the jewelry stall." He moves my bangs out of the way so he can better see my face. "Maybe I'll bring some earrings next time."

"You noticed that?" I cover my face and whine. "That's so embarrassing."

"No, I thought it was cute. Your hands are really cute. They look good in rings."

I quirk an eyebrow. "My hands? They're all..." I look at them and they still seem old to me. What is up with him?

He giggles and puts his pinky to mine, cheesing happily. "They're tiny. I love your hands."

My breath catches and I stare at him with a bewildered expression. Is he seeing something that I don't?

Jungkook squishes my cheeks. "Don't think so hard. Just accept the compliment, Jimin. There's no point in questioning it. Just know that you're adorable."
