Jungkook
After the prince leaves, Jimin is anxious, going to fiddle with his braid only to remember that he doesn't have one anymore. He frowns for a second, running his fingers through his hack job of a haircut. When he notices me looking at him, he blushes and his eyes flit away.
Chuckling, I ruffle his hair. When I came back from my battle with the royal air force, I noticed that Jimin had broken his curse himself. Usually, I saw a filter over his true appearance of an older version, but the dominant image of him resembled the man I met in the alley. However, now, there is no filter obscuring his appearance at all. Whenever Jimin felt free from focusing on his appearance, he'd shift back to his normal appearance, black hair and all. It is what the mom and kid saw. It's what everyone saw but him.
My fingers comb through his soft, silver hair, the only reminder of his curse. I smile. "Your hair looks just like starlight, Jimin. It's beautiful."
Jimin's brown eyes meet mine and his cheeks burn the reddest I've seen from him. He covers his face with his cute hands and says something that surprises me.
"Thank you."
I beam, happy that he accepted the compliment right away without me having to argue anything. He doesn't move away from my touches and instead leans into them, loving the attention.
Eventually, Jimin grabs the hand that I have situated in his hand and interlaces our fingers. "Jungkook, are you safe?"
"Jimin, I'm right here."
He shakes his head. "No, I mean are you safe? Madame Disha wanted you dead. Are we going to have to go into hiding? Are we enemies of the nation?"
I grin at his use of 'we' and I interlace our other hands and I pull him into me so we're chest-to-chest. "We'll be fine, Jiminie. There's no reason to worry about me. I promise. Apparently, you know the right people, so the attack was called off. You should visit and thank your siblings."
"Jinnie!" Jimin's eyes widen. "He works for the crown."
"And he's apparently King Namjoon's lover."
Jimin's lips form a cute circle. "Oh. That's really sweet. He has someone."
I lean in and down so our eyes are right in line. "So do you."
He puffs out his red cheeks, looking like a tomato. "You're a tease."
"Who said I was teasing?" I flick his forehead.
Jimin opens his mouth, only for his eyes to widen at something behind me. "Jungkookie, look."
I turn around and see Calcifer in his small star form. He is floating in front of us.
"Calcifer," I say curtly.
"Glad to see you two are okay. I came here to thank Jimin for keeping his promise. You really are a powerful mage."
Jimin points at himself. "Me? A wizard?"
I laugh. "Yes, you."
"No."
Rolling my eyes, I wave my right hand in front of us and allow a gallery of my images to play so Jimin can see what others do.
The first thing he sees is him hidden in his garden, talking to the flowers and how unnaturally fast they grow. After that, I swipe left to him with the snake that was about to attack the child and how he was able to successfully communicate with it and how its eyes glowed, under his spell.
Jimin's eyebrows furrow as the last image plays of him against Madame Disha before I had to intervene.
"I thought that was you."
