Reunited Danger

Kageyama's POV
After returning to the rest of the team, Hinata and I side by side, the team raised their eyebrows in confusion.

"Woah woah woah. I thought the two of you weren't talking. Why are you so close now?" Tanaka asked, stepping forward with Noya.
I simply shrugged.
"That's not exactly important now is it? We have a game to win~" I purred, running my tongue across my top lip in anticipation.
"Hm~" I heard Hinata hum to himself as he shook his head and grinned, releasing Itazura from her tattoo confines. She flapped her wings and landed on his shoulder making me smile. It was a habit he'd picked up since we were apart and I once again caught sight of the earring he still wore. I noticed he'd never actually taken it out. But then again, I'd never taken mine out either. For the same reason I never changed his contact name in my phone. I just didn't have the heart to.

But that just made me smile more as the whistle blew to signal the starting line up of the game. After releasing Shinryaku to let her stay with Itazura and the first years, Hinata, Ennoshita, Nishinoya, Tanaka, Tsukkishima, Yamaguchi and I stepped out onto the court, preparing for the match. We were up against Johzenji first. How perfect~
With the next whistle, the game started and Tanaka began with his serve. Whilst it was powerful, Johzenji still managed to dig it up, sending it straight to their setter. Almost instantly Terushima jumped to spike it, only to get blocked my Tsukkishima.

Thankfully Ennoshita managed to dig it up and Hinata was able to spike it hard onto the floor of Johzenji's court. Seeing him jump so much higher than he used to brought the biggest grin to my face. "Yes!" I almost screamed - half scaring everyone on the team.

"What? We got the first point. Let's get going!" I yelled enthusiastically for a change, turning back to the net.

Hearing the proud smirks from those on my side of the court filled me with adrenaline. Fuck I missed this feeling. I glanced to Hinata, seeing him at the back of court, his tongue resting on his top lip with his eyes shining and in position to receive.
This is volleyball. This is what I love. It's been way too long since I felt so giddy.

And now is the time to win this game!
So the rallies continued, point after point being won but the gap never seemed to get bigger. The rotation currently was Hinata, Tanaka and I at the front, Ennoshita and Tsukkishima at the back and Yamaguchi prepared to serve.
The score was 12-13 to us.
"Give em a good one Yamaguchi!" Noya yelled from the sidelines.
Soon enough I took note of the ball shakily making it way to the other side of the court. With its shaky projection, Johzenji had a hard time digging the ball up but they managed. Thankfully for us it was high and Ennoshita was able to cleanly dig it up and aim it towards myself.
As the ball came falling down, I took note of an orange blur jumping as high at he could. I could almost hear his voice yelling "Bring it!" in my head.

With a smile and a tingling in my fingertips, I tossed the falling set. I bit my lip, thinking I'd done it wrong but when I saw the ball hover briefly before being slammed hard on the floor on Johzenji's side I grinned smugly.
As Hinata landed on his feet, every single person in the gym was deathly silent.
That was until a female voice screamed from the crowd. "YAY!! MY BROTHER DID HIS SUPER QUICK AT LAST!!"
Looking up, I saw Natsu on Big Sis' shoulders squealing in glee.
Seeing Hinata grin and hold his thumb up at her made me melt. And I won't lie, those braids look adorable in his hair. I couldn't help but chuckle as the entire team suddenly screamed in relief.

"FINALLY!" Takana yelled walking over to Hinata and I and draping his arms over our shoulders.
"Yikes that took you guys long enough. You scared the crap out of all of us. Those three months you didn't talk were hell for us all."

"Sorry to keep you waiting guys." Hinata replied with a giggle. I caught a glimpse of the benches - seeing the first years' jaws dropped to the floor in awe.
"And there you see lads. Karasuno's most dangerous weapon~" I heard Coach say smugly, a devilish grin on his face.

At long last. I turned to look to Hinata, seeing him looking back at me with shining and determined eyes. "Let's win this."
He held a fist out before me. Grinning and nodding I bumped my fist against his.
"With each other, we're unstoppable." I said, turning to look back at the other team, feeling in perfect condition and prepared to win. With a two point lead it was time to take the first set.

And everyone knew it.

~Time skip~

After rally upon rally, the Johzenji game finally came to an end. And as predicted, we won - the first set score being 20-25 and the second set score being 23-25.
Currently the team were taking a breather to get lunch. Our next opponents for the afternoon were Oghi Minami High.
A simple team so I'm not worried.
But I was a little pre-occupied staring at Hinata. I was a little suspicious. He was talking to Tanaka and Noya by a wall. But I relaxed a little when I just took note that all they were doing was giving him an extra water bottle so I looked away and returned to eating before I stretched. Midway through my stretching, Hinata came up to me and started stretching too. I smiled softly, seeing him smile back.
We could do this. We were finally back. And now it's time hell to reign. We will win the preliminaries and go on to win Nationals.
