Hinata's POV
I was so excited. Today was the day right before my first day as a third year. I was practically bouncing around Kageyama's living room. My mother had left to work a week ago late one night. She'd left a note that she'd be gone a month and that I could stay with Kageyama and his family since she'd taken now nine year old Natsu to live with our favourite uncle during the month. It wasn't often she did it but it wasn't the first time it had happened. So now at Kageyama's house, the night before we returned to school for our last year, I was smiling brightly.
"The past two years have gone so fast don't you think?" I asked, pausing my jumping to look at my still extremely tall boyfriend. I'd grown so much and was now five foot six! But..... Kageyama had grown too and was almost six, one. I'm so jealous!
"I have to agree. Though I do believe we'd have done better without the crazy blood relative in year one and the intense break up last year." Kags answered me. I pouted and folded my arms across my chest.
"Did you really have to bring them back up?" |
"Well it's not like we can ignore they happened can we?"
My pout got bigger. "Yeah.... I guess you're right..." With that, I walked over to my boyfriend and sat in his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck and resting my head on his shoulder. At this angle I could see his chest clearly. It had healed up so much within the last seven months. After that incident just before his seventeenth birthday, he'd been so much more open with me. We'd even managed to deal with the twins Zanko and Xander Ijime. They'd been expelled from the school and sent into jail for sexual assault since we had evidence of the abuse. I'll admit, Kageyama had seemed so much happier since they left. Tsukkishima had backed off now since he'd gotten into a relationship with Yamaguchi. We found out they'd gotten together in March during a truth or dare game Noya had us play during the summer holidays before he left for college with Tanaka, Ennoshita, Narita and Kinnoshita.
Turns out that naughty things happened between them during the training camp in March. As I was remembering these things, the tip of my finger was gently running across Kageyama's bare chest. What remained of his self harming were merely bold white lines and the odd small scab that had yet to heal. I was proud of him honestly. He'd achieved a lot during the last seven months. His English grades had majorly improved and his sets and serves in volleyball were just getting better and better. He'd even started helping Rikiya strengthen his jump serve too. Speaking of volleyball-
I lifted my head and looked at my boyfriend in the face. "Do you think you'll be a good captain?"
Kageyama looked at me and raised an eyebrow. "What kind of question is that?"
"W-Well.... You can be a little intimidating sometimes. The new first years might be too scared of you." |
"Ha please. They'd be more scared of Coach than me. Don't you remember how he talks?"
Having being given the opportunity, I pulled my hair back and grinned devilishly - quoting something I remember him saying in our first year: "We'll be just like crows perched on the gates of hell~"
My impression fell when I heard Tobio snicker. "It's scary how accurate your impressions are sometimes."
With a smirk of my own, I flattened my fringe and deepened my voice as I quoted a very vivid quote: "I'd rather set, spike and receive all by myself-"
"How many times have I told you not to impersonate me?" Kags asked a pout on his lips as I dropped my impression.
"Counting now...... 28 times." I giggled. But I was cut short when I felt Kageyama's death grip on my head. "Ow ow ow! Okay I'm sorry!" I cried, rubbing my head and pouting when he let go. "That hurts you know."
"Then stop being cheeky." I stuck my tongue out at him, gasping and mewling a little when I felt him slip his tongue into my mouth and lock our lips together. After a few seconds he pulled away to see my blushing face.
"Baka-"
"Boke-"~Time Skip~
I woke up the next morning, lying on my boyfriend's chest and wrapped up in his arms. Opening my eyes, I saw we'd drifted on the couch. We didn't fit on it anymore but oh well. I slowly got up, now basically straddling Kageyama as I stretched and yawned. I felt Kags shift under me until I heard his loud, deep and oddly satisfying yawn that never fails to send shivers down my spine. With out usual morning greetings and kisses and cuddles, we finally got up, allowing our companions free before we went upstairs to change into our gym kits ready for morning practice. Once ready, we grabbed our bags and left the house, our companions bounding ahead of us as always.
"I hope the new first years will be good. If they are we'll defeat any team." I stated.
"I mean we're almost already there. We finally won a game against Nekoma last year at nationals." Kags pointed out. It was true we reached the finals at Nationals last year. This year we'll win though. I know it.
"Oh please. You're just happy you finally outsmarted Kenma." I snickered.
"Yeah and?"
"I- Nevermind.... "Eventually we made it to the gym, first as expected, the other third years quick to follows as well as Rikiya, Hikari and Kitani. Hikari and I did a few passes to each other until the new first years arrived: A somewhat tall, scary looking male called Marx Razorback. A very tall, brown haired male with red eyes called Aka Modoku. A medium sized, blonde haired male called Uroko Kemono. And finally, a small white haired, deaf male called Percephi Shikara. This should be interesting.
