Hinata's POV
"Wow... Kageyama that was... beautiful..." I whispered in awe as Kageyama stood to his feet again, watching the little girl run down the street until she disappeared from sight."I don't even know where that came from... I just... said how I felt... what I would want I guess." He replied, making me bite my lip a little. On instinct I stepped closer and wrapped my arms around Tobio's waist, resting my head against his chest - careful to avoid the cuts I now knew were there.
I was silent but it was obvious I didn't need to talk right now. I felt his arms wrap around me in return making me smile.
We stayed as we were for a few minutes until I finally pulled away. "We should head to class now."At this I didn't know whether my eyes were playing tricks on me or not but I could've sworn I just saw Kageyama shudder with worry. "What's the matter?" I asked hesitantly.
"Um- nothing. Just a sudden chill is all." Kageyama said, slipping his blazer back on again.
It sounded like an excuse to me and his tone was hesitant but I ignored it for now. We had just over ten minutes to get to class. Thankfully we only a block or two away from the school so we wouldn't be late.
With that the both of us set off walking again, walking into Karasuno's school field. As we got to the club room to drop off our kits ready for later, we bumped into Nishinoya and Malo making their way over from the gym.
"Hey you two! Where ya been?" Noya yelled as he picked up his pace.Well that backfired a little didn't it?
I sighed in frustration before I spoke. "Please not now Noya-San." I said as I opened the club room door."What? I'm not allowed to know? Why not?!! I thought we could trust each other Shouyo~" He whined making me grit my teeth. I couldn't be bothered with explanations and to be fair no one had the right to know of Kageyama's situation.
So I just shrugged him off and ignored him - which is completely out of character for me.
As Kageyama and I walked away, I caught a small snippet of Malo's and Noya's conversation."Is he always so ignorant?" Malo asked.
"No- normally it's Kageyama that's the ignorant one. This is new and honestly scary-" Noya replied before the both of them went into the club room and I was unable to hear what else they were saying. But I just kept my focus on my feet. Entering the school building, I gave Kageyama a quick hug and kiss goodbye before I left to go to my classroom. And as usual, Tsukkishima was there, dressed from practice and ready to go. I went to sit next to him in my usual seat, seeing him flinch and shuffle over.
I rolled my eyes and turned to him. "Is that really necessary? So what if I hit you? You dank well deserved it." I said unamused. He turned to look back at me and smirked.
"I was teasing. You absolute disgrace. How could you still love someone such as the king? He was a mess to begin with now he's just a danger to society. But then again, so are you I suppose. Two peas in a pod just as when you started. Not much change really is there?" Tsukkishima sneered and I grit my teeth more before slamming my fist on the table, unaware the teacher had walked in the moment my fist made contact sigh the wood."Shouyo Hinata! Was that really necessary?" She barked making me snap my head to look at her.
"But I-" I started, pointing to Tsukkishima beside me trying to explain yet failed.
"Sit down and do not threaten others like that again or I shall have to take you to the principle."
I gulped and sat back down again. "Sorry Sensei-" I mumbled, side glaring at a still snickering Tsukkishima from under my bangs. After that, I half listened to the lesson, barely completing the work. But I was thankful that she allowed us to do partnered work at the end of the lesson.
I stood and went to Yachi's desk, sitting down.
"H-Hinata, is something wrong?"
"Everything is wrong Yachi... I don't know what to do..." I groaned in frustration, on the verge of tears now.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"Too much is going on. Kageyama's getting worse, I'm falling too far behind in classes, I can't concentrate, I can barely sleep. My life is just a blurry mess right now.... what can I do Yachi?" I whined, holding back my tears. The female put her hand on my shoulder and forced me to look at her. "It's hard now I know. But you've got time. Things will get better I'm sure. And I'll help you however you need."
The smallest of smiles flashed on my face."Thanks Yachi. I'm glad I'm friends with you."
I said, frowning when I noticed Yachi's face fall but a hint of a blush come across her cheeks.
"I-it's nothing. I'm happy to help!" Yachi said with an oddly wide smile that even put me on edge.
What is up with her?
I thought just before I jumped out my skin seeing the teacher walk to our desk.
Thankfully Yachi had been writing a few things down for the partnered task so we didn't get yelled at making me sigh in relief.
With that the two of us continued the task until class was over.As I stood, I suddenly felt a harsh bump to my back, forcing me to fall forward, coincidently landing on top of Yachi in the process.
Looking around I saw Tsukkishima was the last to leave, the biggest smirk on his face ever.
But what made me freeze was when I saw Kageyama by the door, stiff and biting his lip with tears in his eyes.
And I was stupid enough to watch him run off before I could explain the situation.
"No! Kageyama wait!" I yelled trying to clamber off Yachi, unaware of her bright red, flushed cheeks.Could today get any worse?...
