She lays
Rocking boat
Roaring waters
Seasick of these intense emotions
They calm down as the Sirens wail
in the salted airSplintered hardwood floor
She does not know how much she
could take anymore
"Through thick and outstretched thin, I will stay"
they promisedShipwreck
All alone
Jagged rocks
Bleeding palms
Sand-filled hair
Sea salt lungs
Now stranded,
Tucked away from backstabbing words
So much for a smooth sailing cruise
Still cut up and bruisedBlank glassed over stare
Cold words
Sharp tongue
She no longer looks young
Eyes sunken
Always misspoken
Pale skin
Always being told to look withinDemons now guard her poorly handled heart
No longer bright
No longer giving access to the key
Holding onto past tokens brought
to her by the Thief
