Following the Moonlight

Arriving at the house marked for a meet up, Reena called out to the whoever was there. "Hello???" She said as she held her machete out in case any infected heard her. Ella circled around the building as Reena yelled out again

"Yep... Yeah! I'm in here..." A male voice called out tiredly as he walked to the door and opened it slowly.

Ella stood behind Reena as she awaited the door to open, Ella was ready in case anything happened. The door swung open as a man walked down the stair on the porch with a hardy yawn. He wore a full firefighters uniform and had only 1 shotgun on his back. The scanner he had used to contact Reena was on his hip attached to a belt.

He walked over to Reena and gave a smile, hiding his eyes behind a pair of aviator glasses. "I see I got your hair color right."

"Wha... You..." Reena was dumbfounded. "You guessed that?"

"Not necessarily. I saw you walked into the hospital in Krusno but I didn't know if it was you or the younger girl I had gotten ahold of."

"Oh... Um... I'm Reena, that girl is Ella. She's my adopted daughter."

The man greeted both of them. "My names Moonlight. It's nice to meet you both."

"I'm 21 and my daughter is 15. Is it okay if I ask how old you are?"

"Yeah, of course. I'm 23." He replied as he walked towards the road. "I suggest we get heading towards my little stash and the car too. Follow me."

Reena nodded and convinced Ella to follow with a few encouraging hand movements. Ella was extremely suspicious so she began quite talkative on the way there. Reena joined in on the conversations and the hike that took almost two hours seemed like a 30 minute jog.

Finally, Moonlight helped them get to the stash inside a big apartment building. Inside Moonlight moved a large box from inside the living room onto the balcony and maneuvered carefully onto his feet and over on the other balcony.

Reena and Ella stayed behind and awaited his return as they talked through the walls with him. Moonlight soon rejoined them and they all went to the car Moonlight had hidden behind the trees in Lektro.

Reena got into the front seat and Ella in the back behind the passenger. Moonlight got into the drivers seat, started the car, and started the long drive up to Sovengard.
