"Do you live close?" I ask Kallie after we've been walking in silence for about 10 minutes in the opposite direction of the Manor.
"On Springfield."
"Oh shit. Did you get a lift here?" Springfield was way on the other side of town.
"Yeah, my dad dropped me off before work, Namjoon was supposed to be taking me home after the party." Kallie's face dropped again clearly reliving tonight's turn of events. I hated seeing anyone in this much pain.
"He's an asshole."
I couldn't agree with her more. I was struggling to understand how the boy that a few days ago knocked out a drunk to get my hoodie hack was the same bay that could participate in something like the dog show. It hurt to think about.
"My aunt lives just over here on Bleaker. She is more like a big sister to me than an aunt so she won't mind us popping in for a ride home. Want a lift?" Kallie was a sweetheart.
I told her I was just going to go to Hobi's but I walked her to her aunts first. The more we talked the more I realised how much I liked her. She was funny, quick-witted and kind. I felt bad that we'd been in the same school for years yet this was my first conversation with her.
"I just don't understand why you were even there Seokjin."
"Well, Yoongi made a deal with me that if I went with him to the par-" She cut me off. "No I get that bit, I overheard you guys in bio. It was one of the reasons I agreed to go tonight.
When Jackson first asked me to go with Namjoon I thought it was a fake invite and I'd just end up at an empty house or a crack den or something when I turned up. Of course, it turns out it. was much worse than that." My heart broke for her. She agreed because of me.
Then it hit me.
"Wait, Namjoon didn't invite you himself? Do you think he knew what it was?" I let a glimmer of hope light itself in my heart but it was quickly extinguished. "He knew. When I arrived he was acting all sheepish towards me. I knew something was going on."
The coals that burnt my rage were alight once again. I wanted to kill him. I wanted to kill them all. We walked for a bit in silence. The cool night air felt refreshing and worked to soothe my infuriation.
"What did you mean earlier about not understanding why I was there? If you overheard Yoongi in bio then. you knew why I was there."
Kallie looked at me sympathetically before answering whilst keeping her eyes down staring at her moving feet.
"Because you're so handsome. I mean, I know you are not a fan of tight clothes or anything but everyone can still see how handsome you are, I can see how spending your life standing next to Hoseok might affect your confidence but you are every bit as stunning as he is."
My feet stopped moving as I turned to Kallie and threw my arms around her. No one had ever said anything like that to me before. "Fuck your aunts, want to come for an old fashioned girly sleepover?"
I, Kallie and Hobi spent the night at Grannys. After Hobi finished graphically describing all the ways he was going to remove the manhoods of every guy at the party we spent the rest of the night howling with laughter.
We watched crappy chick flicks (throwing Popcorn at every douchebag guy that came on the screen!) Turned Taehyung into a Disney prince using every bit of make-up.
The next morning we pleaded with Kallie to join us on the shopping trip but she had promised her dad she would watch her little brother while he slept off the night shift.
