As you wander through the steps of life
there are some you come to meet
that snuggle up inside your heart
and produce a heat.
From this you feel contentment.
What they share will make you smile.
They feel like they are of your kin
when only known a little while.
The times that you then share with them
seem to be profound
so you enjoy being in their presence
when they are around.
When they're not,
they're not far away,
a thought brings them to mind.
It really is quite lovely
meeting a spirit of your kind.
The pathways that you walk along
are now there side by side
and the sights and sounds of both your lives
seem to coincide.
You share with them this wonder
and make space within your soul
to bring them close to spend some time
and see how far you stroll.
