I sat down beside my mother as the guests started to arrive at the party and sat down around tables. Hatice didn't look too happy about this marriage but she didn't say anything at all and only smile polity to the people who greeted her.

"It's good to see you again Sultanim" Gulfem my brother's past concubine and the mother of the late prince, their son.

"You too, Gulfem" I smiled at her. She was a really nice woman and I really liked her she just didn't have any luck.

"May Allah let you be next, sultanim" I looked at Mahidevran who spoke, and raised my eyebrow at her.

"Marriage is not something on my mind right now Mahidevran, not all women wait for their knight in shining armor to come riding in on a white horse," I said. She looked down her face turning red with embarrassment. I could see Hurrem smirk at my comeback before turning to the girls dancing.

The doors burst open making us jump and look at Sunbul Agha who ran in looking frantic.

"Validam, there's a room in the harem burning, the princes are trapped in that room," he said panicking. Mahidevran and Hurrem were the first out of the room followed by me, my mother, and Hatice.

When we reached the corridor there was too much smoke which made my maids pull me back knowing I was allergic to the smell of smoke.

"Rana, stay here and tell me what happens. May Allah be with them" I said feeling panic rise in my chest too

I waited in my room for what felt like hours before Rana ran in and informed me that some maid in the harem saved the princes. I ran out of my room and went straight to my brother's room running in without permission.

"Are the young princes alright?" I asked frantically

"Are the young princes alright?" I asked frantically. He opened his arms and nodded his head. I walked into his arms and hugged him knowing he just needed comfort after this scare.

"Will they be okay? Are they hurt at all?" I asked pulling away and looking up at him with concern. He smiled at me knowing that I loved them as my own even though I just met Mehmed.

"They're alright but, Hurrem said something that annoyed me" he sighed shaking his head.

"How dare she?" I asked furiously. I didn't like it when my brother gets sad at all.

"Don't worry about it" he said and pulled me to the middle of the room in front of his bed that serves as a throne too.

"I wanted to speak with you about something, I meant to discuss this with you tomorrow but since you're here" I nodded my head and listened carefully to him.

"Neslihan, you're the only one of my sister that is still not married and mother is really worried about you" he started making me sigh and look down at the floor knowing where this was going. My father never made me marry against my will, unlike my other sisters because of his love for me.
