"How are you feeling?" My mother asked. She reached over to me and took a hold of my hand. After the attack I refused to leave the palace in fear of traitors still lurking outside, however, my valide grew tired of waiting and came over to my palace herself.
"I am fine mother, you didn't have to come here and tire yourself," I said smiling weakly at her. My eyes trailed to Mahidevran who was sitting beside my mother looking at me worriedly while Mustafa fidgeted beside her bored, poor child.
"Mustafa, go upstairs and check if your cousin Kasim is awake or not," I said earning his attention instead of the ceiling. Mustafa's face brightened up at the mention of leaving the boring conversation.
"Right away, aunt Neslihan" and with that Mustafa was running out of the room with a maid chasing after him. I couldn't help but smile at the way he was so excited to see a child that couldn't even utter a singular word.
"Are you sure you're okay, Sultanim?" Mahidevran asked. I turned to face her feeling a little annoyed that she was pressing on the matter. Before I could answer the doors opened again and Hürrem walked in with Mehmed and Mihrimah while Selim was in her arms lifting my mood even more.
"Aunty!" Mihrimah yelled and ran over to me. I got up from the couch and stepped down to the floor level and kneeled down in front of her. Mihrimah's tiny arms wrapped around my neck tightly.
"I thought maybe if you saw the children it will help lift your spirit, Sultanim," Hürrem said. I was shocked that she even though about this, I thought she hated me for gifting Fülane to Suleiman.
"Thank you, Hürrem" I nodded my head and stood up from the floor. Mihrimah grinned up at me making my heart melt.
"Rana, prepare for Mustafa, Mehmed, and Mihrimah to stay the night over here" I ordered my maid. Rana bowed and left the room in a rush to prepare everything.
"I'll bring them to the palace tomorrow I promise," I said to Hürrem and Mahidevran. I would have loved for Selim to stay but he was still too young to be separated from his mother.
"Let's go Mahidevran" my valide stood up with a glare on her face directed in Hürrem's direction.
"Visit me tomorrow" my valide ordered before walking out of the door. Mahidevran bowed to me before following after the Valide. I hated the way they treated Hürrem for the simple fact that she loved my brother. Yes, it bothered me that he saw no one else except her and that is why I sent Mary to him but that didn't change much he still favors Hürrem over Fülane any day.
"Ignore them, come tell me all about the harem gossip," I said to Hürrem pulling her to the couches with Mehmed and Mihrimah.
"Are they all asleep?" Ibrahim asked buttoning up his silk shirt. I put my book down on the bedside table and turned to face him who stood in front of the mirror.
"Yes, Mihrimah refused to sleep unless I laid beside her and it was a challenge sneaking away from her," I said giggling a little. Ibrahim smiled and turned to look at himself again in the mirror.
I stood up from the bed and walked around it until I was standing behind him. I placed my hand on his shoulder and the other on his waist. Ibrahim turned around which made me drop them for a second but he pulled me closer by the waist and leaned his forehead on mine.
"I won't ask you how you feel because I know you hated so I'm going to ask when will you be ready to face the world again?" Ibrahim asked in a whisper. I moved my hand from his hair down to his cheek cupping it softly.
"As long as you are beside me I will always be ready" I whispered back. Ibrahim smiled and leaned down to kiss me. I closed my eyes enjoying the attention I was getting from him.
"Come on, let's go to bed, you have a busy day tomorrow " Ibrahim took my hand into his and pulled me toward the bed. He pulled back the covers and waited for me to lay down before pulling them back up to cover me. He walked around the bed and got in on his side of the bed and laid on his side to face me.
"You look beautiful tonight" Ibrahim complimented. I smiled and turned around to face him.
"You look handsome as always," I said back. Ibrahim took my hand into his and placed a kiss on my knuckles and then to my palm before moving to the inside of my wrist and then the outside of my wrist.
"I like this new perfume you're using" Ibrahim whispered slithering closer to me.
"It's the one you got me from Egypt" Ibrahim grinned and pulled me in for a deep kiss. His hand moved from my cheek to my shoulder pushing my dress off. He leaned down and started littering my neck with small kisses. I ran my fingers through his hair as my breathing quickened.
My other hand worked on unbuttoning his silk shirt which proved harder as he moved on top of me. Every time he exhaled his breath would hit my neck making me shiver. One of his hands moved down my leg and to my calf and pushed my sleeping dress up until he could touch skin and let his hand slither up to my thigh.
"Are you sure?" Ibrahim asked when I nibbled on his ear softly.
"Yes," I whispered in his ear. Ibrahim shivered slightly above me but continued his slow and passionate movement of sliding his hand up my leg pushing the soft material up so he could take it off at some point.
"I'm always sure with you" I whispered again. Ibrahim pulled away and looked down at me with a soft smile. He leaned down and attached his lips to mine, this kiss was better than the one before because it was slow and full of passion.
