"Sultanim, this came for you," Mary said handing me a piece of paper, I pulled the string and opened the letter.
Dear Neslihan Sultan
Meet me in the marble castle, I wish to speak with you
"Who is this from?" I asked looking up at Mary who shrugged her shoulders. There was no name or anything at all to lead me to the person.
"Help me prepare, and I don't want anyone to know I left especially my mother" She nodded as she helped me dress.
I left the castle as quietly as possible to not be found by anyone, I only took Rana with me leaving Mary to handle the situation. I walked into the marble castle looking around, it's been a while since I've been here at all.
I walked into one of the rooms. Someone was standing in front of the fireplace watching as the fire burned the wood, it was definitely a male that stood before me. I cleared my throat making him turn around to face me.
"Ibrahim?" I breathed confused tilting my head a little to the side. He bowed to me when he saw that it was me.
"I apologize for scaring you sultanim but, I wanted to speak with you urgently," He said stepping closer to me. I had the urge to take a step back and away from him but didn't, I didn't want to look disrespectful besides he will become my husband soon.
"Is everything okay?" I asked inclosing my hands on each other in front of me tightly so they won't shake. His presence made me nervous and that intrigued me, why was his mere presence so important to me? why did I feel this way?
"The sultan spoke with me, he wishes to change the date of the wedding, he wants us to marry before the campaign," He said taking another step closer to me making me hold in my breath as the space between us started to grow smaller.
"Won't that affect the budget for the campaign?" I asked smartly. I've never heard of a wedding before a campaign they usually were throne after the campaign to be able to be afforded and to not affect the campaign.
"It won't, his majesty wants to pay from his personal money" He explained taking yet another step closer to me, our chests were almost touching at this point and I was afraid that he was able to hear my speeding heart, I feared it would beat out of my chest and into his hands, I will not let myself be hurt by yet another man even if I will never be truly happy in my life.
"Then he shall do what he sees fitting," I said almost breathless from holding in my breath for so long. I turned to walk out not wanting to be in the same room as him anymore, I feared him at this moment, he was opening the gates of the walls I build around my delicate heart and I won't let him, and I will do anything to take back the key even if I had to fight my own brother, the sultan.
"Wait, Sultanim" He yelped taking a hold of my arm and pulled me back so were face to face again but this time our chests were smashed against each other and we were both breathing heavily, him from pulling me so fast and me from how close we were to each other.
"I-I apologize for overstepping my boundaries" He stuttered letting go of my arm and took a step back so there was some space between us.
"i-it's alright. Now, what was it that you needed?" I asked also stuttering a little at the beginning but composed myself and continued.
"I wanted to give you this," He said pulling out a box and opened it to show a beautiful necklace. I looked back up at him as he pulled it out of the box and took another step forward.
"I saw it and thought of you. May I?" He asked politely. I turned around and pulled my hair and shawl to the side to give him space to lock the necklace. He was so close to me, I could feel his chest rise up and down every time he breathed. I looked at the mirror in front of me where I could see him lock the necklace making me shiver against the cold metal. He was looking at the side of my head, he leaned a little down so his nose was against my ear making me shiver again as his breath hit my ear. I closed my eyes as I felt his hands snake around my waist softly that I could barely feel the touch when a knock on the door bought me back to reality and pulled away from him and walked over to the door and pulled it open with a deep blush on my cheeks.
"I got worried, sultanim," Rana said bowing to me when I appeared in her vision. She looked at me confused when she saw my red face and shaky breath.
"I'm done, we can leave," I said turning around for one second to nod at Ibrahim who was bowing to me, without even looking at him. I was mad, he made me feel again and I will put a stop to it no matter what.
"Of course, sultana" I stepped out of the room and walked hurriedly over to the carriage and got in. I told the driver to drive as fast as possible just wanting to go home and think this through.
I walked into my room to see a grinning mary. She helped me take off my coat and shawl whilst humming softly to herself.
"What's got you so happy?" I asked confused fixing my dress and crown before sitting down on my couch.
"The sultan came over and asked about you," She said dreamily bunching up my coat and holding it close to her chest before sitting down on the couch beside me with a dreamy look on her face. I smirked and leaned forward so my lips were beside her ear.
"What did you tell him?" I asked making her jump up and clear her throat and unbundled my poor coat that will probably need to be ironed now.
"That you went to the hmam" She answered blushing. I nodded and got up to go to my brother and see what he needed.
