Lena rubbed her eyes and tried to stretch out without disturbing (Y/n); it was still dark outside the closed drapes.
The sun hadn't begun to rise; when Lena reached across to her cell phone, the time on the screen read 4:35 AM.
Movement next to her caught her attention (Y/n) moved closer to her laying her arm across Lena's stomach.
It had been three days since (Y/n) was allowed to leave the DEO. Lena had to laugh at how eager she had been to go; she'd almost pulled Lena's arm off.
They returned to (Y/n)'s apartment; it was Lena's first time in her lover's home; it wasn't as she had expected it, and yet somehow it was exactly as she'd anticipated it to be.
Her works lined the walls, not just any photographs had been framed and mounted, but the ones (Y/n) was most proud of.
Lena had been surprised to find one of herself from the photoshoot they'd done when (Y/n) had first started working at CatCo.
How long had it been up there?
A smile forms on her lips as Lena slowly stretch; her body felt so comfortably warm under the single sheet that covered them with most of the warmth coming from (Y/n)'s lovely body.
Lena's movement caused (Y/n) to roll slightly away but not enough to wake her or fully break their body's contact.
It gave Lena a better view of her body, and ever so lightly, Lena brushed her hair off the side of her face so she could see (Y/n)'s peaceful face.
Lena gazed for minutes, never tiring of looking at her, watching her breathe and sleep.
They'd turned a corner when they'd both admitted their true feelings; Lena had felt so much lighter since she was floating on air.
Lena's fingers softly move along (Y/n)'s side, dancing lightly on her hip, as Lena carefully leaned forward and planted some tender kisses on (Y/n)'s shoulder.
The moment her lips met her lover's skin, she felt electricity jolt her alive again, her nipples springing up to life.
The sudden thought erupts in her mind...this beautiful woman is mine! And I can never get enough of her.
Lena's kiss brought (Y/n) to half-consciousness, and she rolled again onto her tummy.
Lena kissed (Y/n)'s shoulder again, a cheeky smirk slowly formed across her lips as she let her nipples brush over (Y/n)'s back as she does, and whisper. "Good morning."
(Y/n) smiled slightly, not quite awake, as Lena continued her kisses, moving to the middle of her back and then lower.
"It's not morning; it's too dark." (Y/n) murmured.
"I know, but good things happen in the dark," Lena whispered as (Y/n) becomes more aware of her movements, of her fingers more openly caressing (Y/n)'s body as her lips do the same.
Lena's feet pushed the sheet off them as her lips and tongue traveled down (Y/n)'s spine.
(Y/n) stretched out, her arms going above her head as Lena explored her back. Slipping lower, she kissed the rising flesh of (Y/n)'s bottom, her fingers massaging her lover's ass as she did.
Lena leaned over and brought her face between (Y/n)'s cheeks, kissing each bouncy globe, "Good morning, baby."
"You already said that." (Y/n) sighed as she turned over onto her back, Lena still locked in place leaning on her arm over her. "I like you down there though, you look very sexy."
"Now, you're awake, are you?" Lena smirked.
"It's a bit hard not to be awake when you keep doing that."
"Do you want me to stop?" Lena asked; they both knew the answer; moving up (Y/n)'s body, she brushed her lips lightly with her own.
(Y/n)'s lips felt like satin against her own, Lena felt (Y/n)'s hands frame her head in her hands, holding her in place. "Can we not this morning? I really don't feel like it." (Y/n) whispered against Lena's lips.
Lena smiled, kissing (Y/n) once more before laying back down beside her, but making sure she was as close to her as possible. "Still feeling weird?"
(Y/n) nodded, "Yep, guilty too."
Lena stroked (Y/n)'s arm, trying to console her. Lena tried to tell (Y/n) repeatedly that the things that she had done under the influence of red kryptonite were not her fault, but (Y/n) still couldn't comprehend the events.
"I swore I'd never do those things again, and it was so easy for me to slip back into that arrogance, I feel sickened." (Y/n) admitted.
"But what happened when you were on Waverider with the Legends?" Lena asked, still stroking her hand.
"That was different; mostly, the trouble found us; we got into trouble a lot when we weren't looking for it." (Y/n) smirked at the memory; there had been way too many times they'd thought their job was going to be simple. Then all hell had broken loose, and they had been way above their heads in hot steaming water.
"So, you didn't have to fight anyone?" Lena asked.
"Yes, and not just Mick for his beer, but we did it for a greater purpose, and we knew we were right. There was no blinding arrogance. We knew we were misfit screw-ups, and it was nice, nice to finally not have to be forced into gallant perfection." There would be many memories of her time with the Legends that made her proud; even when things hadn't gone to plan, they'd always worked together.
"Isn't it possible then for you to use the skills you learned on Krypton and not be and person?" Lena asked softly.
"Not when I really wanted to kill that cosmic show-off." (Y/n) sighed.
Lena chuckled, would (Y/n) ever be able to accept Supergirl, or would she forever be a hilarious nickname? "You know she's my best friend, right?"
(Y/n) rolled her eyes. "You need better taste in friends."
"No, you know what this means, don't you?" Lena teased, rising to rest on an elbow as she looked down (Y/n).
"Don't even say it; if you do, this relationship is over, and I am leaving!" (Y/n) said stubbornly.
Lena threw her head back and laughed. "This is your apartment."
"I said what I said."
"This means that you, you, grumpy Kryptonian have to get to know my best friend," Lena said smugly; Kara had been unbearable since she had discovered who (Y/n) was; Lena had found it almost impossible to stop the woman stalking (Y/n) day and night.
"Never going to happen." (Y/n) said firmly.
"Oh, and what about how I have to see Sara Lance whenever she is in town," Lena replied stubbornly.
"That is different."
"How?"
"Sara is not annoying and hilarious to be around; Supergirl is boring and so annoying." (Y/n) folded her arms and glared at the ceiling; there was no way she was giving in.
Lena smiled slowly, confident in what she was about to speak. "You will do it, do you know why?"
"No, I'm sure you will tell me."
"You'll do it because you love me." Lena retorted confidently.
(Y/n) rolled her eyes, it had felt amazing telling Lena she loved her and hearing the words back, but right now, she was really regretting revealing anything.
Her love was now being weaponized.
