this may have been the best idea your dumbass friend had ever had.

it was a rare occasion when the miya atsumu, rebound idiot had a great idea. the only other good ideas he had were when he tricked osamu into making them lunch most days of the year or when he tricked their math teacher into postponing the test by two weeks so the number on the calendar was 'more satisfying.'

the miya family had some odd traditions such as singing 'happy birthday' as horribly as possible every time or having races every christmas morning to decide who opens their presents first. one of these traditions was the 'get-away home'. it was a small set of cabins, owned by the miya family and they allowed anyone in the family and their lovers to stay at the cabins for as long as they wished. you were not the lover of miya atsumu. he is a best friend: the one you turn to when you need a hug, a shoulder to cry on, someone to make you laugh, and the one to stay up late to watch movies with you. of course he had a busy schedule. being the best friend of a professional athlete meant he doesn't always have the time to spend with you but he somehow finds it hidden in his busy schedule.

because you and atsumu are friends and not lovers it would be frowned upon for the both of you to spend the weekend at the family resort. thankfully, atsumu came up with an idea. the two of you would pretend to be in a relationship. not one too serious yet not too causal where it would be suspicious for you both to spend time away together. after you had both found the perfect slot in your calendars to visit the cabin, he began dropping hints of a new blossoming relationship in the miya family. of course, they were all overjoyed that their boy was finally being more serious in his love life and spending more time off the court.

eventually, the weekend came and you were both going over the specific details of your 'relationship' while atsumu packed your bags into the back of his car.

"okay so, when did we meet?"

"during college but then we lost contact for a few months. came back together and started dating. that was five months ago."

"great. what are our plans for the future together?"

"we're not too serious yet as we're taking it slow but we definitely care for each other."

"okay great. i think that's it right? it's enough where i can tell them we just broke up to something and decided we're better off as friends."

"well, then what are we waiting for? let's go!"

the drive there was filled with loud music and obnoxious singing on atsumu's behalf. the sun was slowly beginning to set as your eyelids were becoming heavier and heavier though before you could fall asleep just yet the car stopped and the door of the cabin ahead opened revealing a man and woman who you suspect to be the auntie and uncle.

"hey, guys!"

atsumu open up his door to wave to his relatives before going to the back of the car and unloading the bags one by one.

the woman runs up to you both excitedly making her look much younger than she appears to be with her brown hair bouncing as she skips to the car.

"hi! you must be (y/n), atsumu has told us so much about you. we never would have thought the little devil would ever get a girlfriend!"
