A few weeks later Yang had woken up. I was doing my best to be there for her as Tai had asked me to but she was making it rather difficult. Soon after though I was meditating out in their yard leaning against an old Elm tree training my semblance and trying to learn how to drop the mental barriers that protected my mind from the incredible amount of information that it took in. With those barriers gone I would be able to do so much more than I could now. However I was interrupted by Qrow. "You know it sure would have been nice to know about your semblance and just how much you could do before Beacon had fallen." I had told Qrow shortly after we had arrived here. I hadn't told anyone else especially not Yang in the mental state of depression that she was in but I had come close to telling Tai a few times. When my guilt had flowed with no restraint. I wrapped my fingers around the hilt of Flow. Which Jaune had returned to me right before we left. Apparently I left it at the landing pad where we had evacuated. "I know Qrow, and you are well aware of just how much I am torn up about not telling you all, but can you honestly say that I was wrong. Can you honestly say that you didn't feel any fear when you learned just what it was that I could do?" He laughed. "No I can't say that, and you were right to be afraid. Anyway i'm gonna go see Tai." I stood shortly after. Intent on seeing Yang again. As I opened her door she was sitting up staring out her window and I noticed that she was staring at where I had been meditating. "Hey little dragon." I spoke up before taking a seat in the only chair in the room. I couldn't find the right words to express what I felt so I just stayed silent. Silent but by her side. Always. Soon enough the door opened again and I turned expecting to see Tai but instead I saw Ruby as she called out to Yang. "Ruby. It's good to see you awake." I stood taking a look at Yang. "I'll give you two some time." Before heading back downstairs where I saw Tai making tea. I walked back outside and sat down against the Elm tree again before heading back into meditation.
A few months passed and fall had turned into winter. Once again I was meditating against the Elm tree when I heard the door to the house shut. I opened my eyes to see Ruby in full combat gear ready to head out. "Going somewhere?" I asked and she and Jaune who was waiting for her jumped. They both turned to see me with snow on my shoulders and head before I stood brushing off the snow. "Yea." Ruby said. "We're heading to Haven. We need to warn them that they're probably next." I looked around at the team she had with her. Jaune, Ren, and Nora "Do you want to come with us?" She finished. I looked down to Flow and then up to Yangs bedroom window. "I wish I could, but I still have someone to take care of. Besides in my state I would only be a hindrance." I said clutching my left arm which still hadn't recovered.
Another few months had passed and winter had turned into spring. I was resting on the couch with Yang as she flipped through channels on the TV seemingly trying to find something that wasn't Beacon related. The door behind us opened and Tai announced that he was back. Yang leaned back hanging her head over the couch to see him upside down. He was carrying a number of boxes and bags but had a smile on his face. "Hey dad." Yang said. "Guess what came in today." He said excitedly. "I can't wait for you to try this." Tai muttered under his breath. After setting down his things in the kitchen he brought out a box with the Atlas logo on it. He set it down on the coffee table in front of us and slid it to Yang. "Well." "It's for me?" Yang said, confused. "For you and you only." She looked at the box for a moment before grabbing a corner and pulling the top off revealing a robotic arm. Silver, white, and black in color. She looked at it eyes wide for a moment before Tai spoke up again. "Brand new, state of the art, atlas tech. You know I thought I was going to have to pull some strings, call in a few favors. But you earned this one all on your own kiddo." "Huh." She said. "Before I could even talk to him general Ironwood already had one of his top scientists working on this for you. He wanted me to tell you that you fought admirably. You should be proud of yourself. Well you gonna try it on?" Yang hesitated and I wrapped an arm around her. As she looked at me I smiled at her. "Hey, take it at your own pace, whenever you're ready know that we're here for you." She smiled back at me and stood up. "I'm not really feeling it right now dad. Thanks for letting me know though. I'm gonna head up to my room and get some rest. Love you both." I nodded to her as she went up the stairs. "Ah, right I almost forgot that I have something for you too Freyer." He went back and brought out another box that had another atlas logo on it. "Ironwood said that you'd be expecting it." I smiled as I opened the box. Revealing a modified Ebb, and restored and modified Flow. "Your sword?" Tai asked me. "Yep, I figured it's about time to start physical rehab on the arm, and what better way to do that than with a blade in my hands." I looked at the handle with concern, I had given the general specific instructions that the handle and guard were to remain the same except for some very carefully made modifications of which could be seen through the eyes of the Dragon which had now been replaced with interlocking gears.
