Chapter 22: Together Again

"Raven?" I heard Qrow ask right before riding out of the portal. "Oh." He said and I smiled at him. "Good to see you Qrow." "You too kid, I'm assuming Yang's behind you." I nodded before rolling my bike out of the way so Yang and Weiss could come out. Qrow smiled back at Yang. "Good to see you back on your feet firecracker." "Where's Ruby?" Yang said looking around for her sister. "Safe, she's in a house that has been provided by headmaster Lionheart. I was just on my way back actually, follow me." I shook my head and gestured behind me. "Get on it'll be faster that way." He nodded before throwing his leg over the bike and directing us to where Ruby was staying. The four of us walked inside as Qrow called out. "I'm back." We heard Ruby call back to him. "Be right there!" "Hey uh. Ruby-" Qrow tried to tell her but was interrupted. "I'm coming." Before she walked out of the kitchen with a tray holding a pot of tea and multiple cups. "So we didn't know how many people were coming so we just cooked all of it." She said looking at the pot to ensure she didn't spill anything. When she finally did look up though her efforts were in vain as she dropped the tray shattering the pot and cups. She took a few steps back eyes wide as Yang took a few steps towards her. "Yang, I-I i'm so sorry. I-I should have stayed, I should have talked to you more! I'd-I just wasn't sure if you wanted me around and-" She was interrupted by Yang giving her a hug. Tears were going down both their faces as Yang said. "I love you." Ruby then hugged back and said "I love you too." Everyone else walked out of the kitchen seeming to have had an opening to see what was going on. Soon enough Weiss joined in on the hug and for a moment everyone was stunned. Shortly after that Yang broke the hug and took a step back. "So I heard you guys made food. I don't know about Weiss but me and Frey haven't eaten all day. What do you say we all have a meal together. Like we did back at Beacon." Everyone nodded as I finally noticed the farm boy looking kid that had walked out of the back of the house. I looked to Qrow and asked. "Who's the kid?" He looked at him and then back to me. "It can wait. Why don't you have dinner with them first. And try to keep the flirting to a minimum." I chuckled before responding. "No promises."

 And with that I joined them at the dining table sitting to Yang's right and we each told our stories, Ruby and team RNJR's eventful journey across Anima eventually coming across and defeating a nuckelavee, Weiss unintentionally summoning a boarbatusk in the middle of a party in her anger, summoning it once more to disprove Nora's doubts, her sneaking out of her own home and kingdom with the help of her butler and fight of a queen lancer midair before being captured. Yang then showed off her new arm. "It's no replacement for the real thing, but I'll make good use of it." "That's amazing." "Incredible." Jaune and Ren complimented as Ruby ran up to her inspecting it as the weapon fanatic she was. Yang laughed before redirecting the conversation to me. "If you think that's awesome you should see the level of tech in Frey's new sword." Ruby then ran up to me with sparkles for eyes. I glared at Yang for deflecting Ruby over to me and she simply stuck her tongue out at me. "Anyway are they both as strong as the originals?" Yang gave a light chuckle before responding. "Yep." Nora then slammed her elbow down on the table. "Wanna bet?" "Nora please now is not the time." Weiss tried to stop them but by the time she had finished they were already well into their arm wrestling match. "It definitely feels like the original, I'll give you that." Nora said while struggling against Yang. "Yep, but it does have some new features." She said before shooting her arm off and sending Nora flying. Nora then panicked that she was holding a dismembered arm and threw it at Yang who caught it in the midst of her laughter. Eventually we finished eating and Jaune took the dishes back to the kitchen. "We ate it all. Ugh I feel like i'm going to be sick." He said and Yang called out to him. "Easy there vomit boy. I believe in you." "Oh we're doing nickname throwbacks now, wonderful." He said walking away. Weiss was laughing and Nora decided to call her out on it. "I mean Ice queen seems to like it." Ruby started to laugh as Weiss smiled and rolled her eyes. "I so did not miss you people." "Oh my gosh." Nora called her out again. "She really does like it. What went and warmed your heart while you were gone?" "Hey, you make it sound like I used to be terrible." Weiss tried to defend herself. "Nah, just a lot to deal with at once." Yang said before taking a sip of her tea.
