Chapter 3 Jacielle
So I’ve come to a conclusion. My mom is an ass. She thought Harry caused my accident because he ‘distracted me’ which is a bunch of crap cause he wasn’t even in the same country then. Parents. After the hospital discharged me, Taz, Harry, and I went out to eat so we could catch up. We went to Giovanni’s and ordered a pizza. “So what’s new in your guy’s life?” Harry asked while picking all the pepperoni’s off his slice of pizza and eating them.
“You do know if you do that it ruins the purpose of ‘pepperoni’ pizza.” Taz remarked. Harry smiled.
“No it doesn’t. I still get the pepperoni and the pizza.” She rolled her eyes and smiled. Same old Harry.
“Back to the original question though, I’m fine. I sleep and eat all day. The life ya know?” I laughed while she just shrugged. Harry smirked. Its been forever since I’ve seen him. His face was longer and he had a lot more curls as well as muscles. His bright green eyes seemed to hypnotize people. No wonder girls love him.
“It’s not nice to stare.” Harry said reaching across the table and putting a dab of pizza sauce on my nose.
“Jerk.” I said before wiping it off. Sitting here I seen how much of each others life had changed, I realized the closer I got to Harry now, the harder it was going to be to let him leave. His smile turned into a look of worry.
“I’ll catch you guys later. I need to get home.” Taz said getting up. “Besides, me and Harry had our alone time while you were on drugs.” I tried to get her to stay, but she shook her head and left. I sighed.
“All the sudden you don’t like me?” he slid into the booth beside me. Instantly his scent enveloped me. I wish he would’ve turned into a complete ass that way I could’ve sent him home the minute I saw him, but he didn’t. He was the same Harry that I remembered. I put my head in my hands. “What’s wrong love?” I looked up into his green eyes.
“You’re leaving soon. The closer I get to you now the harder it will be when you leave.” I whispered. He ran his fingers through my hair.
“I know.” I shook my head.
“I don’t think you do. Do you know how many nights I spent thinking I’d never see you again? And now here you are and I have no idea what to do.” He smiled. “What?” I asked as he watched me intently. He shrugged.
“I just love it when you’re confused that’s all.” I punched him in his arm.
“Shut up and go pay.” He opened his mouth.
“Why do I have to pay?” he whined. I sighed.
“Whatever.” I said digging in my purse to find my wallet when he stopped me.
“I was just kidding.” He shook his head while paying the lady at the register. He walked back over to me sliding his arm around my waist.
“Did anyone follow you?” he laughed.
“This whole entire parking lot is going to be filled.” I stopped.
“I’m not going out there.” I said placing my hands on my hips. He arched his eyebrow.
“Really?” I nodded right before he swooped me up bridal style carrying me into the flashing lights. I was glad mom brought me a hoodie. I covered my face as much as I could, but failed miserably so I just left if down. People were firing questions at him constantly.
When did you get these muscles?” I asked poking his arm. He smiled.
“It’s called a gym Jace.” I rolled my eyes. He carried me all the way to the car before setting me down. “Get in. I want to show you something.” I looked at him. “Just shut up and get in.” I did as I was told and slid into the slick black car that looked out of place in our little country town.
“Where are we going?” I asked as he drove through the maze of paps.
“To look at the stars, duh.” He kept his eyes on the road and I shook my head.
“Harry I can’t.” he stopped me.
“I came all the way over here to spend time with you guys.” I sighed.
“Then go spend it with Taz! I can’t take this.” I scooted as far away from him as I could get. He looked hurt and I felt bad. It couldn’t be easy switching countries with paps following you for someone who doesn’t want to be ‘that close’ to you. “Hazza, I’m sorry.” He just shook his head.
“No it’s alright. I’ll leave tomorrow. I don’t want to hurt you and Taz.” I freaked.
“You can’t leave tomorrow!” I yelled.
“You can’t have it both ways.” I sighed. As usual, he was right.
“Okay. Stay and take me to see the stars jerk.” He smiled and the rest of the ride was silent.
Once we got to a rest stop outside of town Harry pulled over. He retrieved something from the trunk and opened my door. I got out and he instantly put his arm around my shoulder pulling me closer. I let down my walls. Tonight was going to be like all the other ones we had spent back inEngland. He spread the blanket out on the ground. I smiled. It was the blanket we used three years ago and all the years before. It was teal with a few grass stains and a hole in the right corner. Harry sat down and patted the ground beside him. Reluctantly, I sat down. He coiled his arms around me and rested his chin on top of my head. “I miss this.” He said tracing circles in the palm of my hand.
“I’ve needed this.” I sighed. “Ever since Matt died I haven’t felt the same.” He nodded.
“I know I could tell when you called.” I smiled.
“I can’t keep anything from you can I ?” he laughed.
“I’m like the paparazzi. Even though I’ve picked the most secluded place there’s still going to be pictures of us in magazines.” I laughed.
“How does that not bother you?” he shrugged.
“Normally I’m with the lads and Paul, so it’s not a big deal.” He paused. “You’re going to have to meet them one day.” I smiled.
“That’s the goal.” He laughed. “It’s beautiful tonight.” I said.
“It is.” He agreed distantly. One thing from this night was missing.
“You have to sing to me Hazza, in order to make this the best and worst night of my life.” He laughed. His breath tickled my neck.
“Whatever you say love.” He started singing ‘All You Ever’ by Hunter Hayes. I started crying. This night isn’t going to last forever. He was going to have to go back to England soon, and all I would be left with is a hole in my heart and this memory. I intertwined my fingers with his and drifted off to the sound of his sweet voice. I cherished rare nights like these. Nights like this made me love him beyond just friends. He was and always will be my strength. Without him and Taz I would be nothing.
