Author's Note: Before you begin reading, I just want to give a shoutout to CharlemagneDiaz for the encouraging message they sent me the other day. It's great to know how much people like my fanfic (and it's my first one! Crazy, right?) I also thank you all for the votes and views this book is getting. (Yeah, I'm talking to you in the back, lol) So without further ado, here's Chapter 38...

Wednesday, Downtown Canterlot City - 9:32 PM...

There was a secret bar called Bar Negative 69, aka Bar -69. This was the premier meeting place for all sorts of criminals, scammers, hackers, and gang members. Only those who knew the password were allowed inside and the password would change every 4 months. No living undercover cop, vigilante, or government worker knew about Bar Negative 69 because those who found out didn't last very long.

The bar was located between a flower shop and an abandoned department store but on the outside, it appeared to be an apartment.

On the inside, it was a venue with each floor having its' own unique design style. The first floor was a small lobby with a front desk person to complete the illusion. The second floor was Prohibition-era, the third was a rebel/punk theme, and the fourth was a futuristic theme.

A man named Randy Macklin was sitting on the Prohibition-era floor.

He's a white man with grayish-brown hair, a grayish-brown goatee, and blue eyes. His attire consists of a dark grey jacket under an undershirt, black pants, and shoes.

Randy was an ex-jewel thief and a member of Hammerhead's gang, which was one of the largest in New York.

His prized possession was a diamond made of cubic zirconium, aka a fake store diamond, that he had stolen when he first joined Hammerhead's gang.

He was now talking to one of the goons who worked for Hammerhead, the leader of one of the largest mafias in New York, on the phone. Randy had recently quit because he felt unappreciated but, Hammerhead's goon wanted to make sure he wasn't going to rat any of them out.

Randy Macklin: "I told ya for the last time, pea-brain, I ain't no snitch! I wanna' be my own man. Make my own life. One day, I'm gonna' be running my own gang and I'm gonna' rule this town."

Goon: "You sure you're not going to run to the cops?" He questions.

Randy Macklin: "Oh puh-leez, the boys in blue in this town ain't no PDNY." He gulps some of his beer and burps. "They ain't getting nothing outta' me."

Goon: "Alright then, Mack. But you do anything, you'll pay."

Randy Macklin: "Whatever." He says before hanging up and letting out a laugh.

Randy finishes his drink and leaves some money under a card and gets up.

Randy Macklin: "But first, I need some sleep." He says to himself. "Then, I'll do some research on where I can find me a good hideout. Living in that dang trailer park by the forest is ticking me off."
